Just had an email come through from http://www.totalwargamer.co.uk/ they are having a 25% off sale on all Warhammer and 40K till Midnight on Sunday 14th October.

Tad annoying as just ordered a Heldrake and codex from my local indy store but still sure I can find something else to buy lol

Ah nice one, thank you for the heads up.

Kinda wish, like you, I hadn't bought the above. Nevermind, there will be something else :D

Yeah already been thinking on what to get, but its a bit hard as I do not have a codex yet, so might just have to guess, I think I ended up with about £100 of stuff last night lol

haha, just get ordering, one can't have too many models anyway :D

(the above statement is probably false)

Anyone here play Boardgames?

Played an awesome one the other night at the Northwest Gaming Centre, was called Arkham Horror.

Thinking of getting D-Day Dice also....

I consider myself a boardgamer - My collection stands at about 60 games now. D-Day Dice is on 'the list' to pick up at some point, I regret not backing it on Kickstarter. I'm only up the road if you fancy doing some gaming at some point. There's a club that runs in Heaton Mersey every Tuesday, and one in Didsbury once a month too, not to mention countless others around Manchester.

Just a heads up, it looks like Maelstrom Games are about to go under.

Message on their web site:

Here at Maelstrom Games we have decided to clear as much of our hard-earned stock as we possibly can over the next few days - and therefore generate some much-needed cashflow - in order to ensure we can fulfil the orders that you, our valued customers, have placed over the last few weeks. To that end, we have decided - in consultation with our trading partners - to sell our remaining stock of Battlefront Miniatures (at 25% off), Perry Miniatures, Victrix, Plastic Soldier Company, Artizan Designs, Gripping Beast and Great War Miniatures (all at 30% off). All other ranges' stock will now be sold at 40% off UK RRP - we hold good stocks of Gamezone Miniatures, Dark Age, Cool Mini or Not and Scibor Miniatures, and there's a fair bit of Privateer Press and Malifaux left too. As well as that, from this moment onwards we have decided to stop any customer from placing orders for items that are not in stock, simply so that we can clear the orders that have already been placed.

We have not made this decision lightly, and please note that we have absolutely no issues with any of the above manufacturers or suppliers; we are simply trying to sell off stock in order to clear older orders and ease any worries our customers may have regarding the speculation that is currently rife on the internet. As well as that, we believe that our retailing model must now change to selling products that are in stock at the time of purchase, and as such that will continue to be in place in the future, once our orders are cleared and our stock is sold.

I would ask all of our customers to remain as patient as they can with Maelstrom Games and, indeed, our staff, for we will use the money generated by the sale of our stock to ensure all of your orders are fulfilled in their entirety as quickly as possible. We remain committed to servicing our customers first and foremost and will continue to do so in the future.

There's also a big thread over at DakkaDakka.

Sad, but it seems rumours of them shifting assets to other companies are true according to a couple of people I know at Battlefront and they have stopped taking paypal as a payment method as I imagine they are being bomabarded with disputes.

Still run your business as a ponzi scheme and this is what you get.

40k Question

Anyone any advice for painting Thunderwolf Cavalry?

I take it paint the wolf and the marine seperatly then glue the models together?

Also, anyone any ideas for a Wolf Priest? The only one i can see is the GamesDay model from 2003 on the bay.

Flames Of War

Just ordered another 20 T34's for my late Soviet army :)

RED ARMY!

Anyone had issues with Vallejo paints and magnets? Went to paint my war eagles tonight which have been magnetised to put on their flying bases. Whenever the paint goes near the magnet it seems to go very runny and bright orange. I was apply a dark brown basecoat and seems to look like it is rusting! Do they use Iron pigments which could be reacting?

The Citadel Black spray undercoat applied without any issue.
