So far I’ve tried
W&N series 7 miniature-Expensive high quality but the miniature is miss leading. The hair is too short for my painting style. Doesn’t hold enough paint and drys quickly as a result. I would probably have loved the normal series 7. My size 1 is starting to dovetail but it’s easy to make to a good point again.
Raphael 8404 - the ones most YouTubers rave about now. Out of the gate love them but that didn’t last. Brush shaft bad quality. Nice big fat belly’s and a nice point to start off with. They didn’t last. I believe they are now a bit expensive.
Artis Opus- love them but price is high. Think it’s the signature line I have which has the bigger belly hair. I would probably dislike the m line for the same reasons as the W&N 7 miniature. Had a few stay hairs on my size two with not much use. Others are perfect.
GW- new and old line. Waste of money. The base brushes is the worst I’ve ever seen end up looking like a hedge hog.
Cheap synthetics always fighting with them. Some are serviceable and have their uses most have horrible shafts.
These Rosemary and Co are very similar to the look and feel of the Optus and W&N. So hopefully will get on with them. Totally impressed with the series 301 for the price.
Compared to other sizes you might have to size up. To match other brands!!
