Tabletop Warhammer?

Can't believe the prices of these now, it's daylight robbery.

Used to buy them 18 years ago from the Manchester store mainly and it was affordable then. Mainly used to do single figures and displays. loved the painting and modelling not the Army building and fighting..

I can see the quality of the models has improved dramatically but way too expensive. Unfortunately the paints have gone down in quality which is a surprise seeing as that is a key part of collecting these figures. I still have paints and inks from way back when i first started and they are usable because they haven't dried out.. newer ones that I've bought over the years have dried out already and are virtually a waste of a pot now..

Surprised there isn't more pictures of peoples work in this thread. would make for good encouragement for other people..

There is a whole world out there, not just GW.

I posted some Flames of War figure a few posts up.

Paint wise use Vallejo. Much better and cheaper :)

What do you want to know?

I know the guys at TW well (it's our local store) - good chaps, but they have been incredibly busy and their response times have been suffering greatly recently. They tend to be most responsive on Twitter and Facebook I find, other than popping in to the store anyway.

Wish I had just cancelled the order now, Added a note to the ticket (and commented on facebook telling them I had) 2 days ago asking them to change the delivery address, Clearly no one checks these things as it was sent out today to my work address... shame I now wont be in the office until bloody January.

Just ordered dark vengance and 20 paints from triple helix :D hoping shipping is not delayed too much due to Christmas :p great value though£86 instead of £107 from GW. Will post some pics when painted.

Maybe worth giving them a bell just to check but should be ok! Looking forward to seeing the goodies :D

Nice to see warhammer still going :-).
What is a shame is the cost of the hobby, and even though it has always been expensive, it is now becoming so much so that it's putting this hobby or of the reach of kids who might want to get into it :-\

Sure middle age men might play it but this hobby needs young people /new enthusiasts.

Hopefully they relize this otherwise this hobby will will be very much for the older gentleman lol

As previous posts above.

Warhammer or Games Workshop is just a small sample of the "systems" out there and they are not all over priced.

Looking really good, wil be good to see it finished when your paints arrive!

The base is really good to!

Not complete yet as waiting for a delivery of paints but almost done.

My first model in a decade.

Needs a bit of touching up especially on the trim.

Looks good that matey.

What paints you using? Looks a tad thick if i am being picky. Maybe try Vallejjo and then water them down. On 28mm models try to apply 2 or 3 thin coats rather than 1 heavy one.

I'm using the citadel paints, yeah it is a little think in some areas have been using watered down paint but then getting sloppy on quick corrections and it piled up :( that's why I got a few cheap models to practice on before starting on dark vengance.

Thanks though guys :)

I was considering getting Vallejo over citadel but their was no
Massive price difference when purchased online so went with citadel this time round.
