Taiwan and China thread.

Either Joe is losing his mind or the US will actually come to the aid of Taiwan, both are equally worrying
Unlike with Ukraine Taiwan is critically important for the US/West per it's unfortunate near-monopoly on microchips, Biden has no choice here and must make it apparent (easier since Beijing saw the West stay mostly united over Ukraine) that the US would be involved directly.

The Americans need Taiwan as of 2022, its that simple, they don't need Ukraine - they will support Ukraine but they don't need them, their survival is not critical for the U.S or its economy. If China takes Taiwan, and even if they don't but they manage to greatly destroy/damage Taiwan's industrial manufacturing, then its a big problem for the Americans.

Maybe in 10 years the Americans won't care as much, that's why they are currently investing hundreds of billions into bringing manufacturing back to the U.S.

The Americans don't want to go to war with China over Taiwan, they just don't want China to invade Taiwan until the Americans have rebuilt their manufacturing base and can afford not to support Taiwan further.
Once the Americans are able to build world leading CPU's, GPU's and other such technology themselves from starts to finish all inhouse, then they won't care as so much about Taiwan further.

Taiwan will be left to the wolves once more fabs are built in other parts of the world and they are being built.

Does sleepy joe think if China attack Taiwan, then it counts as an attack on Nato if US forces are in Taiwan?

I'm guessing Nato Countries won't see it that way and EU probably don't like the USA enough to help them. so that leaves us who are bound to get in line as always.

USA hates us and chooses ireland above us.. but we come running every time

Ironic that you call him 'sleepy Joe', yet you yourself seem to have completely lost the plot.

The USA doesn't need NATOs help militarily. I doubt they're worried.

You would hope that behind the scenes Diplomats have made that clear. But if so why is Winnie so belligerent?

It seems likely that the US will remove fabs and talent (those who dont want to remain in commie China) from Taiwan over the next 10 years - at which point a peaceful reunification could take place.

A video I came across talking about where TSMC gets there machines from. Seems like TSMC's advantage lies in understanding how to utilise these machines to mass produce chips.

Can't see China invading anyone any time soon. Their economy is in the toilet! Amazing how people keep making the same mistakes again and again in the name of greed and being shocked when it all goes to ****.

It is the human condition. I have long since learned that my preconceptions that those that know what they are doing/are intelligent, are put in charge of things. The reality is, is that the entire world economy is a clown show pyramid scheme built by the rich to get more rich, and that this house of cards with the foundation of soft sand will collapse in cataclysmic fashion soon.

On the other hand regimes like that sometimes resort to war to deflect from trashing their economy - and even if their armed forces are in a woeful state often a messy situation.
