Take Away curries, why do we never learn?

Was anyone else thinking of American Pie 1999?
Finch Gets Drugged with Laxatives

Never been unwell from:

Maccies
KFC
Indian
Kebab

Had a couple of dodgy experiences with Chinese and pizza though. In about 1995, my mum nearly died from food poisoning from a Chinese takeaway. Probably manky prawns.

I was close to suffering that with Chinese Chow Mein. It was sickness though the day after. It was a new owner that took over the place back in 2005/6.

Thankfully I've never had McDonalds since 2001/2. KFC was nice back then. Haven't had one since. Never had an Indian. Heard too many horror stories and this one certainly hasn't helped either. Kebabs? Do supermarket ones count? Though I used to get some from the local butchers. There were healthy eating. Tasty and full of protein.

I’ll challenge anyone to find a McDonald’s without a 5 star rating

This is how I still see McDonald's.

I ordered a Beef Masala meal deal from the local Indian take away last night, the first time in over a year and i've been suffering ever since and sat here in pain

Since when do Indian takeaways do beef meals?

Lerwick is in Scotland right? Clearly dodgy Indian food up there on a par with deep fried Mars bars.

Does everyone have paper mache stomachs or something? Christ above.

Tbh, I wish I was like the OP, I'd order less take aways :D

If in doubt, order a take away from a place you can eat in as well.

Yup

I strongly suspect that the Franchise agreement with McDonalds group is probably as strong, or stronger on hygiene requirements than the local council, which combined with the way all the stores have to use certain equipment/layouts and standardised training means you're unlikely to find one with poor hygiene unless there is a real problem (and that mcdonalds themselves are likely to be doing routine checks, both known and "secret shopper" style).
A McDonalds branch that gives people food poisoning/gets shut down by the health inspectors is a huge PR issue for the company that could cost them more in one incident than the additional checks do in a year so it's worth the cost to avoid it (and for the franchise holders there is likely a clause that can revoke the franchise with little or no compensation under certain conditions).

I don't think there are many/any takeaways or restaurants in my area with less than the full rating, and most of those that fall under it tend to do so due to things like being in an older building that simply can't meet current best practices but the operators have done their utmost to mitigate any issues (one of the chippies gets top ratings in everything but IIRC something to do with a separate area for deliveries out back).

Is it just me or do most people eat food in the full knowledge that they'll be paying for it twice the next day?

Just LOL if you pay for the meal which you then subsequently realise is sub-par or at least not up to your expected standards and then still pay again the next day (equalling two payments) or, if you had not paid for the meal up front, made two payments on the latter date (again, two payments) but there is a financial concern around paying twice for most things on the 'next day' so a review of your life choices should be underway.

Noobs.

Was it spicy? Maybe you have IBS.

I used to love spicy food but I can barely eat it now as I suffer the next morning.

Also chocolate seems to have the same effect.

Why do you bother with crap like this? It’s about as funny as lung cancer
