My current mobo is the GA-X58A-UD3R. On my second one because my first died about a year later. I sorted for RMA but just never sent it off. Doesn't change my opinion on Gigabyte though, will use them again easily.

Wow, this is a fantastic offer! I was not planning an upgrade until Skylake or more likely Cannonlake.

Not sure if it's worth upgrading from my current Ivy to Haswell or Broadwell.

Wonder how long this offer will be on for?

Pretty good scheme, but I cannot see how most people would be upgrading their MB and in turn their CPU as well within 3 years of building a system - just seems an unnecessary expense in buying a new CPU just for the free MB.

Yeah that's how I read it too. It screams desperation, but I'd be surprised if they are desperate.

All it screams is the margin they make on these top end boards

and i was going to keep my Z77 UD5h ivy bridge and upgrade to an i7 only. now what do i do lol.

Yes the margins must be huge for the manufacturer. With each iteration of chipset I cannot see how it changes the design of the MB that much. Must be just subtle things that they have to change, and the branding of it - boom, loads more profit for minimal work.

Yes the margins must be huge for the manufacturer. With each iteration of chipset I cannot see how it changes the design of the MB that much. Must be just subtle things that they have to change, and the branding of it - boom, loads more profit for minimal work.

Every other manufacturer makes just as much mark up. The difference is, Gigabyte are giving something back that absolutely no other does. Upgrade to the new version of your board for free in three years time - its a no brainer.

You're joking right? My P55A-UD5 and P55A-UD6 were fantastic boards. I wish I'd gone gigabyte again with my Z77.

I'm trying to figure out if there will be any restriction on the NEW board that you choose in less than 3 years time? The FAQ doesn't seem to suggest this, and I know if the chosen board costs more than yours did originally then you pay the difference, but would certain boards be off limits all together, and you can only swap for a limited range?

Maybe it will only be the BK edition boards ? It doesnt mention it in the FAO about going from Z97X-UD3H-BK to something like the x10x OC FORCE. Just going from one BK edition to another BK

The Z97X-UD3H-BK will be exchanged without extra charge against the direct successor, probably the GA-x10x-UD3H-BK. But GIGABYTE also offers an upgrade against higher SKUs e.g. the GA-x10x-UD5H-BK. Here the customer has to pay just the difference between his original purchase price and the suggested street price of the new board.

Question to GIGA-Man: By referring to Great Britain is exclusion of N.I. and Channel Islands deliberate or are they meant to also be included?

the only bad part for me is, i dont want to pay £350 for a gaming series motherboard

ALSO: Is there plans to get any more boards on here? Really want a red coloured one, but not at £350...!

I think all you do is pay the difference from what you paid for your board

Well that is pretty rad. It's always the ballache of having to upgrade your whole core system that stops me from getting a new cpu (thanks to intel's inability to stick to one bloody socket for more than 5 mins), so this is a really handy way to encourage people to buy newer cpus as well.

I've filled it out and it's said I've registered, but I've not had any confirmation via email. The button at the bottom ("present now???") doesn't seem to work so the only way I could do it was to hit enter in one of the boxes after I'd filled it out.
