Well PvP is a massive part of any MMo for me and I totally agree with you. I don't want to make this sound like I dislike Tera, I enjoyed it initially but whilst the combat was fun to begin with it soon began (for me) to get tedius.
As Beta tests go, Tera is very polished and I didn't find any game breaking problems or glitches it's just when I boot it up after 20-30mins I'm wanting to play a different MMo.
Stopped playing last Saturday and haven't felt the need to pick it up since. I was just bored I suppose playing both betas, maybe I'm just tired of mmos. I would say pvp was a bit tedious, I never felt like I had the information necessary to help me improve, so many encounters were one shot deaths. Main problem was the missions didn't grab me. Still 5 quid well spent I reckon.
I guess you could say it's like playing counter strike or a FPS where you have 30-80ms ping vs 120-250 ms ping..Any of you played on the US servers from the UK? If i play at launch it'll be on a US server as the guild i'm in is from all over and it's usually the middle ground but i'm a bit wary that with this being FPS targeting ping will be a huge factor. If any of you have done this so far, how is the ping and how much does it affect PvP?
The LFD is not cross server, there was a post on it yesterday. One of the mods confirmed that it would only search your server, but would search all channels.
What didn't you like about the "WoW-Killer" part? I had to put something like that in or I would have been pelted with stones by the trolls.
Played a bit on the EU and the US servers.
We're leaning towards the EU servers atm as tbh the mapchat on the US servers was unbearable, filled with idiots.
Whats everyones views on frogster atm ?
Aye dont know which is the lesser evil... Playin EU and letting frogster run the show or play US and put up with the bunch of muppets playing![]()
The last Launch Feature has just been revealed!
Improved Early Play
We've fine-tuned your first sessions in TERA to deliver maximum action and get your journey off to a rapid start.
Tired of games that start you in an out-of-the-way village where the chieftain wants you to collect coconuts in the jungle? TERA's new playable prologue starts you right in the middle of the action: a beachhead under assault by demonic forces. It's not just a cutscene—you'll be fighting big-ass monsters within minutes, learning the controls as you go.
The thrills don’t stop when you leave the prologue behind. We’ve adjusted the storyline quests throughout the first 20 levels to challenge you as they reveal more of TERA's deep lore. The boss monsters in particular got upgrades they can't wait to test out...on you!
Feature at a Glance
Playable Prologue: You become part of a beach landing gone awry. Can you save your allies and prevent a military disaster?
Badder Bosses: New tactics and deadlier attacks from early-level foes. You'll earn those levels.
Quest Variety: Dozens of new quests that take TERA far beyond repetitive “hunt,” “gather,” and “deliver” tasks, and reveal the world’s rich history and cultures.

How can I join the open beta?
Everyone who redeemed a key will be able to access the servers during open beta, this including CBT 1-5, single CBT keys, pre-order or full version keys and also sneak peek key users. In case you’re totally new to TERA and have no account or key redeemed so far, there is no need to worry, just follow the below listed steps:
1. Create an account for TERA or login into your existed account right here.
2. Click on the button “Enter Code” in the upper right corner.
3. Enter the following code: TERABETA
4. Click on Submit.
5. TERA has now been added to your game list, you can now click on the button “Download Game”.
6. This will download the launcher, in the launcher itself you need to login with your account details and after that the actual client download will happen.
7. Please be aware that you temporary need around 50 GB of free disk space. After the download and installation is complete the client will have a size of roughly 24 GB.
In case you already participated in previous test sessions you’ll just need to download the latest client version through the launcher as a patch.
We’ll release further information on the pre-character-creation (name reservation) and head start for pre-order customers soon.
The open beta is not under NDA, so you’ll be free to offer live streams, share impressions, screenshots and videos with everyone.
We hope you’ll enjoy the open beta of TERA!

Hello everyone,
we're aware that there are still open questions regarding the upcoming release of TERA. We would like to use this thread and update it with the latest updates as we receive them.
Q: Will the in-game items (for example the lion of the Collector's Edition) be available for all characters or just one character per account?
A: Those in-game items will be available to all your characters. So you'll be able to use the lion for example with all your characters on your account.
Q: There are plenty of discussions about the blood in TERA at this stage, what is the official statement and status about it?
A: The initial statement about this can be found here. We brought this topic up again this morning (Monday) at the upper management level. There will be meetings about it in our company in order to discuss possible further steps. As soon as we have any update on that matter, we'll inform you about it. Please be aware, that it might take some time until we have an update for you available.
Q: There are some rumors about the white graphical elements in the open beta. Is it true that these are exchanged textures and that they are related to the blood discussion?
A: No, these issues occured with the new open beta build for all regions. This is just a graphical issues with the latest version and it is not related to the blood discussion.
Q: Another rumor is about changes to the castanic models, what is that about?
A: There were changes made to the castanic model, but those changes were made month ago for all versions of TERA, including the korean version.
Q: There were some issues with the chat filter during open beta, are you aware of that?
A: Yes, this issue is related to a filter software and we'll look into that matter.
Q: What about the guild emblem? Why is it currently not possible to upload a custom logo?
A: This function is currently disabled. We're trying to work on a proper solution with Bluehole. The function was deactivated due to some legal reasons. The current system was abused to upload images which violated certain laws.
Q: The pre-character-creation (PCC) / name reservation is pretty close, same goes for the head start, when can we expect further information about these two topics?
A: We'll inform you about the details and timeframe as soon as we have the final internal timeline available. We'll try to get this information to you on Tuesday or Wednesday the latest. The server setup might change compared to the open beta, depending on the final results.
Q: Will the Guild vs. Guild system be active on PvE servers?
A: At this point this is still under discussion between the developers of TERA and the publishers. The current status is therefore, that the system won't be included on PvE servers.
Q: I found a t-cat NPC in the game during open beta and this NPC offered different items, is this some sort of a cash shop?
A: This NPC was only left in one location and will be removed for the head start and launch. The t-cat system won't be included for the launch in Europe. The system is not some sort of a cash shop it is more a kind of a veteran reward program/npc. If this system will be included in Europe, we'll inform you about this.
