Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

Why not release a creation kit?, let other people create amazing worlds and new items not just say i'm done and leave it.. It's got so much more potential and a creation dlc would bring in more money e.t.c

I'd like to think that he'll release some kind of final update that allows that kind of stuff, yeah. I'm sure we'll find out one way or the other about it in the next weeks/months.

I bought this but ain't got a clue what you are meant to do is this a idiot guide

Terraria Online Wiki - Getting Started

As for no more updates, Hero from Youtube is working on some new mods for the game.

Red also said that his new game will be very much like Terraria 2, he often had issues with not being able to add things that he wanted, due to his lack of programming skill, so hopefully this new game will be better.

I started playing it again a few days ago but I'm planning to work through on SP. The slight warping caused by lag on Hard Mode was seriously frustrating and I wanted to try a magic focused character (going well so far, 3 Mana Crystals and an Arcane Shackle.... and not a single magical weapon ><).

I also found my first (and second) Dynamite traps earlier today. Or more accurately, they found me and left a very large hole in the ground where my character should've been...

The girlfriend and I started playing again yesterday. Started new characters on a new world and we are blowing through it at a decent pace. Want to get us into Hardmode to see what its like.

Currently bashing our way through the Jungle in silver armour with a rubbish (can't use c rap!) gun. Doing well though! Just need to find a few more hearts to get our HP up.

There has been some pushback from gamers who think the outraged reaction has gone too far, and even one or two who thank the developers for providing dozens or even hundreds of hours of gameplay for a measly ten bucks, but overall, doom, gloom and idiot rage rule the roost. It's quite a contrast from yesterday's tease of today's announcement, which was followed by hundreds of messages of happiness, appreciation and love from fans.

Sums it up imo.

No surprise they go NUTS, the developer basically said thats it i'm not developing it anymore it's staying as is and i'm not going to add anything for it. Then we get this?

I really don't understand the rage. We got tons of content for not much money..and now they are porting it to console to make some money. Oh te h noes.

edit: this seems applicable:

The 360 and PS3 versions of Terraria are currently slated to arrive in early 2013. More information can be found on the official Terraria forums or the Terraria Facebook page - but please, try not to embarrass yourself.
