Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

Awesome. Definitely need to get on there when it first starts though otherwise you get annoyed at how powerful other players are compared to you and how quickly stuff has been built!

Meh, people just need to follow the rules. People bringing stuff in from there own games, even if it was just to construct stuff was always getting stupid. Skybridges were banned because they messed up meteors.

I remember where some of us had held off for a day so more people would around to beat Skeletron together, then someone went and killed him on there own.

May/June release time, looking forward to it.

I was playing with you back then, I was using a character with the same name wearing Links outfit. I remember dieing a few times and losing all my gear as I couldn't get down to my gear fast enough after I died so it vanished :(. I guess I shouldn't have gone mediumcore.....

I tried getting into this again recently on a new world but I stopped playing before I tackled any of the newer bosses, I don't really know why as I just got a full set of Adamantite armor.

Ah Mediumcore...

Never again :p

I lol'd at 'someone'...we all know who :p

I also remember the maze of traps that were created there.

Anyone mind reminding me who it was?

I have a few names down that wouldn't be invited to a new server as they've been given more than one chance. As the admin tools are still kind of limited any help on identifying trouble-makers would be really appreciated :)

I actually can't remember :p

I do remember the massive tantrum that led to flooding the entrance to the Dungeon via a tunnel to the ocean and lining the whole thing with spikes.

Don't forget the person who kept on dynamiting everything we worked so hard to achieve!

I built a massive theater, underground hotel, church and it was destroyed when i came back.

Hardcore (drop/lose your stuff) was always more tense and exciting.

Trouble is it only really works if you're not the only one doing it :p As I recall, everyone else on the server was softcore, bar one guy I met :p

A bunch of us should agree to do hardcore again, it'll be fun...

Hardcore was death = dead. You're thinking Mediumcore which was death = equipped gear drops.

We learnt our lesson on that. The problem is that if the gear lands in lava, you're ****ed. And more often than not, sometimes no matter how well you play to get back, there is a limit on the number of items that can be dropped and it'll eventually overwrite them. It was fun early on I'll agree with you there. But once you start getting to the late game, chances are if you lost all your gear after starting Hard mode you'll probably just not bother.

I guess the biggest problem with mediumcore is the fact that weapon drops are finite.

So if everybody was mediumcore we'd soon run out of weapons, due to continual losses.

But playing the early game mediumcore (I think I got as far as Jungle before re-rolling softcore) was a lot of fun. Tense, heart-pounding, seat-of-your-pants, fun :D

Yeah, I was the other mediumcore player on the server and it did bother me slightly when I died for that reason. Fortunately I only died a few times when I was geared up and the worst irreplaceable item of value I think I lost was a cloud in a bottle. It did suck losing my rocket boots but they were what got me killed in the first place :p Somehow I managed to fall to my death with only the height gained from double jump and rocket boots when I was in a small cavern. That was the time my gear fell into the lava.....

Weapons like the handgun and the murasame are a lot worse to lose as there are only a few of them on the map and they're used to craft more powerful weapons.

Did you ever move your home from the corruption border? I remember you always having eaters attacking you in your home.

Corruption spread like wildfire so that isn't much of a surprise. Those damn spitters spreading it was such a pain, especially if you'd built pretty stuff pre-HM using corruptible materials ><

Yeah the drops from the Dungeon, floating islands and hell were a little thin when you had more people. So you wouldn't want them to start vanishing through mediumcore too.
