The support for this game is naff, we've had more minecraft updates in the time between just each terraria patch.
We've had lots of updates and the game is less than half the price of minecraft. The support is fine
What they have listed for their upcoming features sounds really good though, just hope some stuff for "end game" make it in sooner rather than later as currently when you have everything there isn't much to do.
It sounds like an interesting list, but tbh the problem is nothings balanced in combat.
You can use melee weapons, ranged and magic weapons/spells regardless of equipment. You can use ranged weapons in melee just as effectively which tends to make them far better at close range than swords because you can use them very fast. No real need for using accessories or armour that boosts it.

How does one destroy background dirt in the surface level? I tried the hammer but it doesn't work.
I really should know this by now
It does but it takes a painstakingly long time. Hence i put my 'dungeon' project on hold until i get a 'super hammer'.

.. Carry on with what you are doing Yeah I think most people were anticipating the patch last friday by the sounds of it. Since its going to involve making a new world, all you can really do is stock up on things if you intend to use the same character and make a new home. If you intend to start a new one then there really isn't anything you can do at all.
I'm intending to make myself a giant castle in the new patch on my own world and use it as a home world. It'll probably take a little time to bring everything over from the chests but I'm gonna completely re-do the storage area in the new castle anyway.

Right, has there been an update or something? Because now every time i try to launch it starts in a small window and crashes after displaying the 'splash' screen.

If people want something to mess about with until we get the patch I could generate a small world for you to explore?
i had a good session yesterday, manged to get a few 'spedial' items Mirror, Boomerang, Boots and Cloud all have been very useful. Managed to find a couple of ice gold veins so have all gold armor now too.
Killed the Eye dude and looking at spawning some others.
Also going to build a nice new 'Home' world.
Will come online soon, maybe wait for next patch. Overall very addictive little 2D game.
