Terrible Jaguar re-brand

People know the jag handles better, like an Alfa does too , but we are just scared by the reliability and maintenance costs ...like ingenium

BMW's are no different for example their 2 litre 4 cylinder diesels stretch timing chains for fun. They are not even the ultimate driving machine anymore as they regurgitate FWD chassis from their Mini sub brand. Mercedes E classes rust for fun that cars under ten years old have holes in their rear subframes. Yet people are climbing over each other to rent a 320d for a monthly sum.

Lexus is completely ignored in this country yet top reliability surveys every year for the past decade.

Europeans are weird because once we label a product we automatically keep that bias despite how companies change.

If anything Lexus are how Mercedes were in the 80's and 90's but the general public doesn't see it. Stuck in their old ways.

A bit like Jaguar when they unveiled this brand new all aluminium chassis technology and created the best riding and handling cars in their class but people still associated them as boring old man cars.

Driving a Lexus with a CVT is a bit like sampling early death though, in all fairness.

The round one looks like the logo of some low budget strip club that's trying to make itself look like a high quality joint before people go in.

Exactly this. And the script looks like something off a food mixer or a fridge.

It’s genuinely upsetting.

will new owners buy the car debadged and get an aftermarket traditional badge for front grill ...in comparison the peugot re-orientation of their lion head was fine.
Given what they'll be spending I wouldn't be surprised if completely debadged is an option.

The monthly price when I was looking at the XE as a company car was off the scale of what I could pick, but then again a 3 series went out of bounds if you chose any options at all

Well it will tick some boxes and the marketing team will be air kissing at their ‘ahead of time’ thinking. The rest of us just **** ourselves and buy German like always.

Sad really.

I've always had a soft spot for jags

Would love an xj12 one day if I won the lottery to fund the boat (I believe the running costs are similar to a yacht)

Really wanted an xf aswell but just can't get the finance to work.

But this rebrand rubbish... Obviously decided by people with no clue.

The new lettering for jaguar looks like it belongs on pre-school alphabet learning cards.

What on earth the circular JJ sign is about I've no idea.

They were supposed to be moving the brand more up market for higher profit margins, with starting prices of 100k, but the leaked photos so far just reveal another bland electric vehicle, granted it was in common but it doesn't look promising.

Jaguar really needed to lean on both their history and moving to the future, the Jag badge probably should be a proper Jag badge, maybe have gone back and done a retro of the badge from the 60's-80's.

Every new person who gets hold of Jag seems to mess it up and go in weird directions, maybe if they just concentrated on quality they might have sold more cars, the latest ones had the looks and driveability.

I genuinely believe this revamp is going to be a massive flop and Tata will get fed up of funding it and shut it down.

The answer to the question which one of the historical Brititsh Marque's is going bust next appears to have been answered....

No cars for a year and then they come out with this nonsence?

Jaguars problem has always been marketing.

Jaguar had a better product with the Ipace than Tesla with their Model 3 and even beat them to market in the UK.

Same with the XE and XF. Both better cars than a 3 series or 5 series but nobody cares that the XE is aluminium and handles a lot better when the monthly rental payments for their 320d is a fraction of the cost of the Jag.
I had an XE and loved it. I thought it was much better than the 3 series of the time and I was a BMW guy but the brand itself has just sleep walked into oblivion.

Just as some companies seem to be moving away from this kind of idiocy in their advertising, Jaguar seem to be diving head first with their eyes closed into it.
It’ll be their Bud Light moment if they don’t u-turn and very very quickly.
Instead of focusing on engineering, sophistication and the history of the brand, we get this tripe (advert), who the hell is the target audience?

It wouldn't surprise me if this nonsense was wound back at some point and was the plan all along. Marketing agencies arent stupid and they will know the reaction that this would have achieved well before it was released.

True but do regular punters really care about that? Lexus for example in the states is normally the top selling Luxury Brand or at least up there most years as an equal to the German big 3.

Oh I agree this is most likely the end of Jaguar but it isn't like they didn't try. They actually put out some really good products with the XF, XE, F-Pace and I-Pace. Even now the I-Pace is most likely one of the best all rounded EV's on the market despite it being out for years. They had to try and do something different. Maybe if they stuck a Land Rover badge on the front they might have sold better.

I wonder how much the design company charged them to come up with opposite Js which actually looks more like lower case RR and a capital G
I don’t think an agency created the brand. I’d eat my hat if a company like Collins or Pentagram disregarded the company’s heritage like this.

It’s clear something needed to happen with Jaguar but I feel the infusion should’ve came in some other way and started with the car line up.

Not 1 of these have raised a murmur in non enthusiast circles

Even in the circles there are better options for the money.

I wouldn't really call any SUV an enthusiast car either, it's something you use on days you aren't using the interesting car.

I've only just seen this, and... WTF!?

Jaguar guy A: "We need to make more money, what's our approach?"

Jaguar guy B: "Torch everything"

Looking at the photos, it seemed like parody. Are they still going to make cars?
