Terrible Jaguar re-brand

And yet Tesla out sell Jag by quite some margin.

Just because the car won awards it doesn't mean to say it's a car the public want,

The Jag was good when released, and then quickly out classed.

Quick Google search brought the following, it seems it has it's fair share of faults aswell.

The Jaguar I-Pace has faced a number of issues, including brake failures, fires, and low sales:
  • Brake failures: In 2019, Jaguar recalled some I-Pace models due to a potential issue with the electrical regenerative braking system. In March 2024, former Big Brother winner Craig Phillips reported that his I-Pace's brakes failed multiple times on New Year's Eve. Phillips returned the car and called for a full recall.
  • Fires: Jaguar has reported that there have been three fires in the U.S. after previous software updates on the I-Pace.
  • Low sales: The I-Pace has had low sales and a lukewarm set of features.
  • Competition: The I-Pace faced tough competition from the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6, and Hyundai Ioniq 5, which have a faster charging speed and longer range.
  • Heater issues: Some early models of the I-Pace had issues with the heater.
  • Technology updates: The I-Pace could have benefited from improvements to its range, charging speed, and technology.

Failing heaters seems to be a thing on EVs in general for some reason.

Wow quoting Google now. My question was about your own experience

Not sure how sales figures relate to tech. I’ve never driven a car that squeaks when you steer anyway. But in my experience of many EVs the ipace is miles ahead of the model 3 as a car. This isn’t what this is about. This is an over locking forum where stats are all that seem to matter.

I go back to my original simple point anyway. Which you seem to have complicated.

Have you seen cyber truck wheels yet ?

I think the side profile picture makes it look more square and angular than it will actually be. The top down view shows some nice curves and classic shapes to the body lines ( almost e-type like ). I think it'll soften at the edges, and when it does, it'll smooth out and look more classic.

I actually find myself thinking the car has potential. I think back to the Range Rover Sport concept (Stormer) and how it softened out a little.

Still not a fan of the re-brand in terms of image though. I dont fall into that market bracket.

Well it’s hard for a heater to fail on a ICE
never had a heater fail on an ICE ! bmw 3 heater valve for passenger side failed so cold .... audi I picked up 2 weeks ago driver heater motor failed/failing

the latest battery bad press on the I-pace (buybacks) really put the nail in that coffin ... most people don't care if a car handles well (like it's said i-pace does) otherwise we'd all be rwd driving saloons w/manual gearboxes

That’s cause there is no electric heater…

From every photo/video I've seen of the 00 it looks like it's been photoshopped in, it just doesn't look real! I'd love to see one in the flesh though.

Not at all interested in the way they're trying to market this car, it clearly isn't aimed at my demographic. Having said that, I do find myself quite liking the 00 concept, maybe not in Barbie pink, but I think it looks quite menacing in black.

I'm just watching the JayEmm Lotus video and it turns out there is already a hyper expensive EV for the market Jag are going after, lol. I forgot the Eletre existed.
