Is probs what u were referring to.

Given the way the hype train is blowing its whistle, does that mean we can expect TDU3 to be released in ~5 years time, unfinished, badly bugged and missing most of the things shown in hype videos for it? That seems to be how it works for hyped games.

Well the past 2 were buggy releases so who knows what the third will be like.

TDU2 is one of only two games I have ever pre-ordered. It was so buggy on release that it was literally unplayable until the first major patch a week later. And I do mean literally unplayable. It wasn't that the framerate was too low or that the game was unstable. The game simply didn't run at all. You couldn't play it even if you would accept any framerate and any degree of instability. It was released as at best an early beta - the release version was 0.6.2 IIRC - that couldn't connect to the servers and it didn't allow offline play.

But after some patches it was great fun. I'd like to play TDU3, but I am expecting it to be released several years from now, massively buggy on release and with very little of the things shown in hype videos for it. That's how these things work. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Be interesting to see if they can live up to the trailer.

I have mixed feelings about Hong Kong - it is a bit limited in scale but not as small as some of the locations people were guessing and has potential if used well.

Plot twist - the game ends after 1 day because your character is arrested and disappeared by the PRC authorities under security laws.

Hong Kong has some incredible roads, the south side of the island....had many great weekends cruising around there.

Quite interested now...

Looking at it on the map it isn't actually much different to the previous locations size wise - for some reason I had the perception it was smaller than the Hawaiian island used for TDU2. I guess the way the most common parts of HK are so high density warps the perception a bit.

Hong Kong is mostly lush green mountains....with high rises crammed onto the flat bits round the edge.

Loads of great mountain roads and passes. Not actually great fun in real life as the limits are slow and police over-zealous....buy definitely a good setting. Got tunnels, great flyovers, mountain passes, coastal roads, city grids....should be great for a driving game.
