*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

Hey...

Question (I'm new in the gym section so be gentle with me! :p).

I'm doing weights, running and the like - and try to eat protein such as lean chicken, fish (such as for example salmon) as well as have a healthy diet in general.

I'm considering ordering something like maxi-muscle (promax or something) for extra protein... but after doing a bit of research, though whey protein seems good, many in the body building / sports areas don't really seem to rate it (claiming that it's over priced and there are better products).

Anyone offer any suggestions, as I was looking at it mostly for the whey protein / muscle repair, or is this completely pointless?

I just order Impact Whey from myprotein, people here have used it, i've not got any gripes with it.

I'm using it due to not being able to afford enough protein foods i'd like, and for now this is cheaper...Yes food is 'better' but untill I earn more money it'll have to do :p

Yep...Well, I think I have the 2.5kg one, and the bag is bigger than a size of A4, but naturally a lot wider if that makes sense?. Depends how often you use it really, every day? Or only after workout etc?

I'd probably use it mostly after workouts, but maybe on the occasional "off days" so possibly like 5 days a week.

I'm basically trying to figure how many serving it is. Maximuscle stuff seems to be like 30 servings for the larger tubs, which is basically, zip for the price!

Oh okay, you'll get way more than 30 in the 2.5kg one easily really.

At the end of the day, its a tenner I think? The protein amount on it is reasonably good, even on the flavoured ones (I use the strawberry one, just because really :p) And a bag lasts ages.

Give it a shot :)

Okay, thanks a lot.

I'll give it a shot. Better than paying 500000x times the price with maximuscle. :D

"Hi DA,

Thank you for ordering from Myprotein®. Your order 27xxxx has now been confirmed. It is now being processed and will be dispatched to you very soon.

Your Order Content: Impact Whey Protein(£19.95) x 1"

:D

What flavour did you get?

I always went for unflavoured because it was cheaper, but I'd end up putting crap (i.e. nesquik) in it to make it taste decent, so this time I went for chocolate - it smells absolutely amazing, a really rich cocoa scent. It tastes great, though not as much as the smell leads you to believe.

For those that buy 5kg of impact whey, use www.bodybuildingwarehouse.co.uk in their price checker, and it drops from £45 to £35

http://www.myprotein.co.uk/pricematch.aspx

However bbw value whey is meant to be excellent, it's £35 for 4kg with free delivery.

For those that want to say thanks, please use my code MP5042 for 5% off your first order. :)

Had a knackering session, left the tricep dips for when they get better, but skullcrushers along with pulldowns gave them a ruddy good hammering.

Also enjoyed alternating db incline raises, and lat raises, love it.
