Started training again today, been doing swimming but not the weights.

Got a problem with my knee in which my patella shifts around a little and my kneecap is ultra wobbly understrain, I really really really ( cant stress this enough ) want to finally sort this out, its stopping me doing sports and I honestly have waited far to long for physio and surgery to come through.

I know i need to build fairly large quads in order to stabilise my knee, but in just leg raises alone i struggle to lift the bar fully straight with my right knee, Any help would be great.

Get the surgery sorted.

As Morba says. Surgery.

Squats & (walking)lunges are good at building leg strength, mass and stability. People often say squats are bad for the knee's but it's actually the oposite.

Poor form and bad technique is bad for the knees.
Good form and good technique is good for the knees.

Same with any lift really.

Managed to hit 160k bench last night and also 1/4 rack push for 200k :)

how long does it take the average person to hit 160K bench?

is this free weights (eg, a bench and bar, or is it a machine system)?

i reckon i could do 160K on a machine quite easily, but free weights would be no where near that.

IT's taken me about 4-5 years from 60kg. However, I don't do much benching, I don't like it.
Wow didn't think you'd say that. :D Same here though. For some reason the whole exercise feels weird to me. I'm really weak at it and it does nothing for my chest. Dumbells are the way to go for me.
Your weight fluctuates a lot! On Friday I was 80.5kg, on Monday 79kg and today I'm 81kg!
Monday I was 74KG, today 73 lol.

Same, for my wrists especially, db bench is the way forward for me, never been a fan of bb bench

When I first started I liked the BB bench but since I started using DB I feel it a lot better in my chest and like you said it puts a lot less pressure on your wrists, though I still prefer deads for my number one exercise

dumbell benching will prove to be too expensive for me because i work out at home.

i only have 12.5kg to 25kg dumbell's. i also have olympic free weight dumbell's but i doubt i could use them for benching, as i dont have the right number of certain plates that would be needed (230kg set).

looks like ill need to stick to a barbell until i can slowly increase my collection of dumbell's.

I've been doing DB bench press for the last couple of weeks due to not having a spotter. It makes you realise just how different the whole exercise is when compared with using the bar. Much more wrist "activation", and the possibility of involving the chest a bit more. I still prefer the bar though, purely because I like lifting more. :)

Epic Push session today:

Squats: 127.5kg, 5x5
DB bench press: 2x25kg, 5x5 (failed on last set)
Overhead press: 32.5kg, 5x5
Dips, 3xF

I've decided that my aim for now is to reach 1.5*BW 5x5 deadlift and squat before Christmas, so that's 135kg. Currently at 127.5kg squat, and 112.5kg deadlift. Still quite a way to go, but linear progression of +2.5kg each session is working nicely.

Fixed db's aren't cheap

Fixed db's aren't cheap

exactly my point, my 12.5kg to 25kg set is over £500 to buy brand new, they are rubberised hex bodypower dumbells. i got them second hand plus a stand and some matting for £300.

to buy 2 x 27.5kg dumbell's is over £100.

so using dumbells for benching is unjustifiable to be honest. but i may decide to buy more in the future if i have spare cash. like say buy 1 or 2 every 3 months to spread out the cost.

Rotator cuff injuries, I know they're fairly common.

Mine was on the way to recovery, its been about 10 weeks but yesterday I was doing some DB incline bench and it's upset it because it's hurting like hell. Have serious problems moving it.

First course of action is leave shoulder/incline/weighted dips. Should my second course of action be to see a doctor and ask to be referred to physio? For some reason I have a feeling the doctor isn't going to be very useful and just ask me to come off the weights all together.

How long does it generally take to heal? I haven't pressed in a few months and I'm seriously missing it :(

Always worth a shot at the docs, just let him know that youve had time off, its a reoccuring injury and try and stress how much you want to keep lifting. If that doesnt work theres always the private physio route if you have the cash
