Mix it into your cottage cheese :) or just straight off the spoon :D

I absolutely destroy the cottage cheese with chives, I dont think theyd work :P Straight off spoon could be good.

Since im on a cut are there any brands I should stay away from smooth/unsmooth? does that make any difference? Currently got some Morrisons Wholenut

When I use it I stick to the whole earth organic stuff, not sure I could have it around on a cut though I tend to eat it a little bit too much :p

Always worth a shot at the docs, just let him know that youve had time off, its a reoccuring injury and try and stress how much you want to keep lifting. If that doesnt work theres always the private physio route if you have the cash
Thanks.

I've just come out of University, so the private route would be difficult.

How long does it generally take to recover, any ideas?

I have it off the spoon and it has to be Sunpat and Chunky, smooth is just a sin!

Its a slow healer due to the complex nature of the shoulder joint, I know FF has had issues with his and recommends doing some very light RC exercises which work well to help strengthen it.

Ill be doing some cuban rotations to get mine up to scratch i recomend that DarkShadow.

I noticed!

It's the first time I've had an injury as such since I started lifting. Gutted :(

Would be interested to hear more from FF. FF where are you?? :D

See your GP and see if you can get reffered to a specialist and have some x-rays & MRI done.

Does it feel unstable? or just hurt?

Lee Hayward has some good rotator cuff warm up videos on youtube and also some other RC exercises on his site I think.

I found TGU's with a KB or DB were good at improving shoulder stability. Couple with some vertical, horizontal & diagnoal internal/external rotations the RC should get a good going over.

Very light weight no more than 3-4KG, nice and controlled. I used to do my RC work on a cardio day after cardio once I was nice and warm.

Mine *touch wood* are behaving at the moment although a few weeks back there was a couple of slip ups where they didn't feel very stable. Not during the lift but when picking up a DB off the floor.

It's painful. When I raise my arm out in front of me, I can really feel it. I can't roll over on the bed to my right because of the pain. I also found it really difficult to pick up my 3 year old niece, she's very light!

What's worse case scenario from a GP?

Exactly what was happening to me...I couldn't move without some sort of pain.

I just haven't done anything with it for three weeks...and it started to get better...although lately its come back slightely (from doing no esxercises? :p)

I've also noticed it 'clicks / jolts' if i do a slow windmill movement with that arm...never did it before :(

Yup light light light, slow, high rep RC work moving in all planes of motion - however this was evaluated by my physio - I have LOTS of exercises for it, but it was taylored by my physio for my injury specificall.y

As above sadiqii.

See a GOOD physio - I know they're expensive, but a good one is worth it's weight in gold IMO. :) Don't try and self heal unless you are 100% sure, even then it's worth getting a second opinion. :)

Worst case scenario: you'll be told to stop doing whatever is making it hurt and to rest up and dose up on anti inflamatories and pain killers.

Best case: Referal to a specialist, x-rays, MRI. From there then as mentioned steroid injection or could have the shoulder tied, though this is usually for instabilities in one of the muscles making up the RC.

Could well just be a trapped nerve or some torn muscle tissues.

Devlis: that grinding/clicking/popping make well be tendons crossing over one another. Before I tore my left shoulder I used to be able to make mine 'clunk' (loud enough to hear) by having the palm of my left hand on my neck and my elbow up as high and then moving my elbow across my body and then back the other way. Pritty sure this was my humerus grinding in the joint.

Another worse case scenario. You both have you arm amputated ;)
