*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

Sucks! Luckily it wasn't right at the start of my workout but I was really pumped for DB rows and then some shrugs later.

It's even worse as my liquid chalk has arrived and I really wanna see how it affects deads.

Since I was injured I decided I needed an emergency calorie injection to maximise healing, and since I only had £1.05 a Greggs steak bake, which has something like 450 calories in it was just the ticket!

What a coincidence Skull i just did the same thing getting ready for the same exercise today. Although it doesn't feel too bad now so i should still be good to go for tomorrow.

Been a while since I've wandered into this thread, I should come here more often. I've been following my usual weights routine as of late however I've recently thrown in a cardio/other stuff day and have been experimenting with plyometrics (?sp) and tabata training and really enjoy it. Anybody else have any experience with this or have any tips they can pass on? I'd love to hear other people's experiences as I've pretty much designed my routine from youtube videos (yeah i know not the most ideal but hey it works).

Started training about 6 weeks ago now. Feeling the benefits massivly, my arms and chest have some muscles on them now. Seem to be soaring through the weights, and my technique is improving. Though still some what lacking on the deadlift, but I know this will improve.

I feel knackert though, training 2-3 times a day at the moment. Either not sleeping enough, or not eating as much.

Anyway, just wanted to thank all the tips left in this thread. This is the 3-4 time I have tried weight lifting and the only time I have stuck to it. I am now seeing improvements which just gives you this massive urge to keep going and get better! :)

I feel terrible...cough, slight fever, all bunged up but I really really want to work out today. Just so I don't mess up my Mon/Weds/Fri routine. Is this wrong? lol

No point.

You'll fatigue insanely quickley and then just feel disappointed you've had a **** workout. Not to mention it will just keep you ill for longer as your body will trying to be repairing muscles and fighting off a cold/virus.

Save it and hit it hard when you're better.

Well I have 162 days until my PL comp. Actually rather nervous about it as my lifts are not that big to be honest but 23 weeks is a long time to get strong, plan on adding 5-10k a week on squats/dead lifts until comp.

Can anyone vouch for this protein? Seems insanely cheap....i'm all out and money isn't exactly oozing out of my bank account right now, anyone who would go against this stuff?

I've been a little like that before, I hate messing up my mon/wed/fri split but once you come back to a Monday and start again you feel lot's better in the end ;)

Take the rest and come back stronger ;) it's good to have a rest occasionally.

My shoulder is much better, No swelling and I can freely turn my head left and right without wanting to black out :p and my arm is free to move around thankfully, No pain at all except when I wake up in the morning I have a bit of ache and when I look down towards the floor but it is slowly getting better.

The only problem is I am going to have to slowly build up to the weight I was trying to lift when I had the accident, I picked the empty bar up (20KG) and It does cause a bit of discomfort so I'll be laying off any heavy shoulder exercises for a while and slowly adding a couple of KG to the bar if and when I dare ;)

All in all just happy I have been able to carry on doing my routine (Just avoiding the overhead press) Although I must admit it has affected my bench a little bit, If I don't watch my form 100% It causes my shoulder to Burn like mad, Apart from that though there is no problem :) I'll just have to be careful.

Lots of each! Lol!

1/2 tub yoghurt.
1 apple
1 banana
A good Handful of each berries
A good covering of cinnamon
Add milk to get consistency you want b
Similar with oats but always start off with a good handful.

Just play with the measures. Too thick add more
Milk, too thin add more oats and yoghurt. :)

Cheers
