*** The 2010 Gym Rats Thread ***

I've got some serious issues. Yes I did got to a gym at 2am in the morning just to do 10 working sets of squats. And yes I couldn't walk properly when I left. This was after a serious DL session on Friday.

I said I wasn't going to squat this week, I think I need to see a therapist :(

And boy... this dude ain't pretending with this kind of bar bending!

how did you injure yourself? i must have missed the post? its your shoulder? right?

an extremely common injury, that scooby guy from youtube just had surgery on his shoulder.

My shoulder yes

Don't know exactly...I think it was a mixture of benching and flys on Friday, followed by clay shooting on Sunday, so god knows...I haven't dared do anything on it untill I've seen someone other than a docter who goes 'oh theres nothing seriously wrong, if so thered be markings' Not if its ligament damage you monkey!!!!!!!!!

Ugh

Rining hosp today to book x-ray, and then a physio

Ah the joys of training in the middle of the night. Used to love doing that!

Hopefully not a repost but heres theres a nice little video at the bottom of my post.

Im looking at buying a couple of around 18kg dumbs for TGUs? Would i be better off with kettle bells or best to stick to normal dumbs so I can use for different things.

Yep TGU's are incredibly taxing. Brilliant though and quite 'fun' providing you've got the space to do so.

18's will probaly be quite heavy to begin with. Though I guess it depends on your build and how seasoned a lifter you are.

I wouldn't say KB's are any easier than DB's other than a KB will just sit/hang in your hand where as you'll need to grip the DB.

Seasoned? Just a beginner! I guess 18s are to much will probably try 12s then for now.

Anyone else pretty much collapse to the floor when getting out of bed after doing legs?

Never get used to that lol.

I know how you feel. Yesterday i had 5x5 of 115kg and today my legs are jelly. Its my ass that takes the main beating thought, I'm walking like beyonce today :D.

R.E TGUs would use them as a supplement with other training or what. I guess I'm asking how you would fit them into a routine?

Can anyone recommend some decent adjustables on a budget then? I do have a gym membership but wouldn't feel right doing some TGU's and other exercises at the gym.
