You don't need to do wide grip pull/chinups (whichever they're called): a doorway's width is fine.
Sure, you'll be missing out on the last 10% of pain and extension, but pffffft...
I have one, but don't really have any decent door ways to do wide...The only door way I have has a cupboard 2mm next to it so it doesn't hang properly
