*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Edited original post for clarity.

It's not the classical push pull split - you normally do push/pull exercise on the same day, and vary it by upper body and lower body.

However, you also seem to have 2 push sessions and only 1 pull session. If anything you want it the other way round.

Presumably you've put deadlifts and squats under your "leg" workout?

Chain squats tonight were 190kg at the top, several sets of 2 were pretty comfortable even if they were very hard :p.

Going to start losing weight now. I'm looking a little chunky :D.

10kg of mass? nope

ate foods in moderation? sure dont we all

A glass of red wine at weekends? What a monster.

This guy hasnt got a secret. He was quite fit already and he leaned up. He isnt big after leaning, he is lean. He didnt use a cabbage diet, and neither should you.

The more i think about this article the more annoyed i get. Guess what give me one person who cannot lie. I will give them a half assed program with a half assed training regime and they will follow it flawlessly for 3 months. From a position of 15% bodyfat, like the before pic of that guy, they will be ripped mofo's. Every single one of them, without even having to try very hard. The ONLY secret is honesty. If they CANNOT deviate from the program they will succeed so easy it would make you sick

Yeah this is one thing I understood early on working with Andy from RippedBody - most of the time the impressive transformations are usually muscled guys cutting - as skinny-fat average joes can't do nearly as much in 12 weeks (look at my log for an untrained fatty starting from scratch).

Or they do this haha:

Good morning fellas.

Just wanted to drop in and let you know that you can get 600grams (3x200g packets) of almonds from tesco for £2. No idea if it's a current special but it was too good to pass up!

Cheers!

People also do not appreciate the difference 5-8% bodyfat makes. Even a pretty big guy @ 15-18% bodyfat, which is 'typical' will look smooth and undefined. Get him down to 10% and he will look massive. I find it funny when you see someone like Chris Hemsworth (Thor) in a movie and everyone say "wow he is huge" when in reality, at least by our standards, he is average but shredded. Not long ago i watched blade trinity and a friend upon seeing Ryan reynolds actually said "i bet you wish you were as big as him" He's half my size and then some FFS (though i wouldnt mind that conditioning lol). Its just that same old chestnut of public perception vs reality.

Still got DOMS from tuesday's session - first after Christmas. Today's session will be fuuun... :s Considering I'm struggling to squat without any weight on, it will certainly be interesting. Plan on massively loosening the legs up with a foam roller just before :)

Also having massive issues getting a solid breakfast in recently. Thinking I might just up the oats quantity in the morning shake, although I'd still be losing a bit of protein :S

I've found that despite rendering myself almost incapable of walking, if I force myself into a gentle run the day after a heavy squat day, my DOMS are much better. Probably just something as simple as getting the blood flowing?
