*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Ok so 2nd day of pressing in a row: was not looking forward to this!!

Warm up
Empty log (70kg) x 5 strict
70x5 strict
80x5 strict
Empty log plus red bands (apparently 20kg each at top of press):
Wow, going from 70kg to 110kg in a pretty short ROM is hard!!
x2 strict and 1 push press
x4
x5 - smashed these out, **** yeah was happy with how easy these went!
80kg + red bands
x2
x2 - top end is above my log PB, so happy with this :)
85 + red bands
x1 - bloody hard, tris dieing after 2 sessions in 24 hours. Boom :D
70+ bands x 5
Empty log x 8 fast strict

Incline log bench:
We were all feeling the pain, so this was going to be hard:
70x5 fast
90x5 fast
110x3
120x3
130xf - moved about 3" above chest and stayed there. Battled for about 5 secs then gave up lol.
110x5
Drop set:
110x8 / 90x6 / 70x4
When we got to empty log we all struggled to get more than 4. So funny to struggle on something so light :D

Tri's and shoulders = blasted. Very hungry today!
 
I went to the gym on Saturday and was quite angry / annoyed [for actually no reason at all, just one of those days]... but goodness me it did wonders for my workout. I seemed to be a lot more focused and I was lifting heavier weights than I have ever done before.

I was quite shocked. It highlighted just how important your mental state in the gym is as it indicates I was physically capable of lifting heavier before but by mental state or focus was not allowing me to.

Now I don't want to get myself angry every time I go to the gym so just need find other methods to stay focused :p
 
likewise morba, mark got unlucky last year with picking up injuries hope he can come back this year and get back to the worlds and show em all how to deadlift again.
 
Thought I'd start posting a few bits from my workouts in here. Should probably put a disclaimer at the end of each of my posts saying: "Not natural" though. :rolleyes:
I haven't used anything for 2 months though if that makes any difference..

Legs today. No squats tonight but got a PB on leg press:

380kg x 10.

If youve done a cycle recently then no you aren't natural, however nobody is really gonna care as your open about doing it :)

Having said that, your leg press isn't exactly screaming "he must be on gear" :p

I only mentioned it because of the other pic thread. Read it and you'll know what I'm talking about. I'm happy with my leg progress so thought I'd share. Never said it was a mighty impressive weight. I don't train for strength.

Steedie is quite right, locking out, can cause knee issue. You are hardly loosing out on rom by going 1inch short of lock out :) make a log mate would be nice to see how your sessions look. No need to mention the cycles, however everyone likes to see training/vids/progress :D
