*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Eh, you're right guys.

I do get the feeling sometimes though that SOME people do tend to have this whole "screw supps, just eat loadz of meat" thing going on.

Maybe I'm misreading.

Kind of misreading I think :)

Lots of people come on here going "I need to buy some whey protein" - People are just making sure they aren't just buying it due to seeing some advert about drinking whey makes you pack on 10lbs of muscle mass in 10 minutes :p

Decent healthy diet first, then supps.

I'm not "anti" supps, heck I even started a thread about it all! I just think too many people shove lots of things down their neck without really knowing how it helps and say that their "on" whey for example, as though it is some sort of androgenic super compound. It's not, it's basically just cheese scum scrapped off and dried!

Supps have their place, but not to use as a band aid on a broken structure, but as a finishing touch to making the structure perfect.

Just trying to save people money and get their lifestyle in check first :)

BPP that is my entirely philosophy tho :D the ONLY supps I take are whey and fish oils.

Ordered some tourine and citrulline malate yesterday tho as it was 50% off :)

My diet is fine. Maybe not as thought out as all of you but I have been refining it and seems to fit ok.

May aswell spend the money while I have it as ill use it at some point.

So a lot of news sites are reporting that Fish Oils raise the risk of prostate cancer. I swear, everything they tell us to eat, they then tell us later that we shouldn't eat it.

Brb eating tofu only so I'm safe

However, I did read that, the research is not yet conclusive, and based around poor heavily processed American diets. Look at people from the Med who eat a lot of oily fish daily, have one of the lowest recorded number of prostate cancer, including Asiatic nations where fish makes up most of the diet. We're talking about mega dosages here too - until I see something more conclusive, I shall keep to my 4g a day.

Eh, I'm totally sick to death of this sort of thing.

So now, my penchant for canned mackerel puts me at risk of prostate cancer... but on the flip side, at least I won't have a stroke or heart attack.

we've all got to die of something. Worry about the prostrate when you're older! :)

No, sticking your head in the sand is not the way to go. Being aware of things like cancer is important. However, I agree with the notion of being psychologically content being a better way to behave and better way to live life rather than being negative and a hypochondriac.

however, one shouldn't ignore the potential risks associated with cancers.

Another good reason to do exercise!
