Fingers on rings for me, feelsgoodman.jpg, though I'm only 5'10. Each to our own, if a bro want's to bench narrow then who am I to stop him.
 
I wouldn't call my grip narrow but I'm not very tall - 5ft7(.5!) and the grip position that gives me the most vertical forearm throughout the lift w/my arms angled around 45 degrees and the bar hitting under my nip-nips seems to be an inch or two from the rings - although I tend to look at it as being a little over a thumb's length from the smooth.
 
i keep my rude finger on the ring.. feels the best, tried wider felt like ill snap my shoulder and narrow just wasn't powerful enough to push the weight

Duration: 50 minutes


NB: I wasn't lifting heavy today as I hurt my back last week and want to ease back into things. That said, I've been on this cut for a couple of weeks now and I am having to work noticeably harder in the gym. It doesn't look much but I feel exhausted! :D

Trying to stick to compound stuff (I alternate between bench press and DB every cycle) but I love the EZ Skull Crushers and refuse to leave it out. Flies? I generally don't like doing them and I'm sure people on here have said they're a waste of time especially for cutting - maybe I'm wrong? As for my other workouts I'm doing 3 a week and the others look very similar, mostly compound but maybe one or two isolation exercises. Legs & Shoulders go together and I train my back as one session, don't bother doing bro-science curls just lots of pull ups.

PS Feel free to tell me to man the hell up if that's not enough. Only I was under the impression from Martin Berkhan and Andy Morgan's guides that less is more when cutting on LG IF.

Fuarrrr, apparently 90kg this morning, I believe a few kg is bloat though from food etc

Seriously not liking my gut at the moment though
 
Went to the gym for the 1st time ever on monday. My brother and another friend mostly showed me around and I tried a bunch of stuff, but I did end up doing quite a lot of lifting. Now I'm in massive amounts of pain. :p

Anything I can do to speed up the recovery process? I want to go again :p

Ha, not that awesome. Just less fat, still got 5% or so to go before I'll be happy for holiday.
 
Makes me feel small at 75kg & still cutting down to 70kg (5ft 11) :(

I think I'm going to go crazy once I finally start bulking & put on a couple of hundred pounds*.... :cool:

Quick question, just starting taking up swimming again to aid my cut (obviously cutting calories is the priority/eating clean etc, but burning some of the excess calories from social occasions) - does it compliment weight lifting that well?, or would it be better to do something different in the gym?.
