*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Valkia is back on it! Maybe this year i'll sort my diet out. I've been back at the gym since about Jan - Feb and have a good shape but looking to make it better.

Show me your white bits, pls

Hahaha nope.

Sounds like you guys had a gainful holiday, welcome back :)
;)
Cheers bru
I have short legs. I also have greasy wop genes. Where abouts in Italy did you go? So on topic.
All kinds of southern Italy. Amalfi and various places across on the east coast.
I sorta hope you left Dom there......

For he is the only man to rival my handsomeness.
I tried to set him up with some of the abundant skip rat Chris Hanson esque youths, but to no avail. Nobody even lifts over there though, so they were all marvelling at these two handsome and vascular giants with appropriately lengthed legs from the north

I'm assuming a few folk on here have tried IF and I was wondering if anyone noticed a little bit of strength gain?

Perhaps it's just because i have been more strict in general of late as a result of IF, but just within a couple weeks of trying IF, I'm squatting 25kg more with little less effort, and deadlifting 30kg more without even trying.

Unexpected IF gain, or placebo affect from feeling good in my own body?

guys any idea on the shoulder pain while doing wide grip pull ups/lat pull downs? its only my left shoulder.

what happens is as soon as i lower my body on pull up there's something pooping inside my left delt/shoulder its as if a muscle tissue gets compressed between bits of other muscles? and its really painful and genuinely kills my pull-ups/lat pull downs in general.

any ideas? not asking for medical advice just maybe some rolling/stretching exercises that could help?

Congratulations on eating cleaner and probably being more organised in your life, meaning your recovery is more consistent. ;) :)

Possibly tight tendon in there somewhere, but I would check your AC range of motion before going to see a physio about it. Chances are something is tight meaning it's not moving correctly.

Could someone recommend me a good pre-workout supplement (not tablets) just to give me a boost of energy and give me focus. Working in a office all day makes me incredible tired and off it.

I've noticed myself become stronger over the last 6 weeks, upped my weights by 10kg :)

One thing in my work gym I really don't understand, the squat rack & even the barbell bench are pretty much never used.

This is obviously fantastic for me, as it means I don't really have to wait to use them ever, but is it normal for a gym to have both smith machines in use constantly & never the squat rack/standard bench?.

Not to mention the only people who do squat, use the smith machine & only do about half a squat...

I just noticed today during my workout (a bit of an odd one today as fitting in 2 days of my split set due to getting a tattoo tomorrow & no gym for a few days after - silly I know, but didn't want to fall behind :p) - that nobody else was doing what I'd call the standard lifts bench press, squats, dead-lifts, overhead etc.

Yep, pretty normal I think.

I didn't notice any strength gain from switching to IF, but all I changed was my eating timers (as I was already eating clean) & didn't notice any improvement on my lifts.

I did notice a burst in weight loss which lasted a few months - but then returned to it's normal rate afterwards.

Yep, pretty normal I think.
Yeah - seems pretty bad tbh, the rest of the gyms in my area are just full of cross-fitters so don't really have anything to compare my work one with!.
