*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

20 minutes after your resistance will help get your circulation going.

However, there is also the argument that if you're lifting properly, then you shouldn't have the energy for cardio. :)

You're changing your routine yet again. Do the weights, do the cardio (I did mine after the workout for 20-30mins) low and behold, I lost weight.

Disclaimer: it obviously depends entirely on your diet (which you keep amending anyway) so stick to ONE training regime and ONE diet plan for more than ONE week, weigh yourself Friday/Monday morning, then do it again the week after and see where you are at.

I just think he's not seeing the results he wants in a week and is adding stuff into the mix to try and help, somewhat missing the point.

But there we go. To be fair, I and pretty much all of the people on this subforum have tried explaining this to him and it doesn't seem to have stuck so far.

@opethdisciple: please. Just listen. If you stick to a consistent routine, it gives you the ability to compare your weightloss and tune it over a period of months to suit. If you keep changing it, you and we won't have any baseline to work with, making it impossible to help you. So please: state your current weekly routine, draw that line in the sand AND STICK TO IT.

I know that, and to be fair on the guy I farted around for the best part of a year and I admit that, it wasn't until I stuck to a diet plan and a weights routine I actually started seeing physical results.

Countless people have told him what to do, but he keeps on changing it.

And once you got it sorted, look at where it's got you: squatting triple figures, deadlifting goodness knows what and much improved mobiliy.

Goes to show, really.

So your hands don't bleed at all they just hurt, like normal then? :p

The skin tore once and that was enuff for me. I'll continue to strap cause i dont want a repeat

What are your lifts like, as ice said it would be surprising if your skin is tearing/grip is failing u less your lifts are mighty impressive. Many guys here deadlifting 200+ with just chalk, and no tearing.

working weight for 5 is 180k and 200k for 3...so no nothing that should cause skin to tear or make women fall at my feet in awe

i didnt want to turn this into a "my skin tears and my grip fails, what do i do" moan...
was more saying i dont see a problem with straps and im happy to use them :)
each to their own i say ...

I've been wondering, who are you? Are you a member's friend or something? I'm a bit baffled as to why someone would sign up here, an overclocking forum with gym-related name, signature and conversation.

Not meaning to sound hostile at all, just somewhat bewildered why you've not joined a bodybuilding/weightlifting forum!

I've been wondering, who are you?

A guy i work with is a member...he's on it most days in work...usually car stuff
He got me into reading the forums in work when i get bored or at lunch time and suggested i read the sports arena

I could join a weight lifting forum and speak to an equally random bunch of strangers but i liked the banter and motivation i read on here between members *shrug*

Honestly for deadlifts you don't need straps. Chalk and alternating grip is very strong. I don't train grip and had no issues even pulling 250.
