*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Simple story:
Joe has a GF called Lois.
Joe is punching well above his weight.
Joe is on a promise to share naughty videos.
Joe WILL comply.

Well with rl events. With ex and moving and work etc have had to delay hospital trip until Wednesday. I would have pulled a sickie at work but due to living in a mate's spare room atm I can't afford anytime off as I need a place sorting asap.

Tbh from p ast experiences ithink I have broken a metacarpal, as I am still unable to clench a fist or straighten the hand out without major discomfort, hopefully I'm just being a hypochondriac but we shall see come Wednesday. Forgive formatting as I'm half cut and typing this on a phone as there is no internet here.

Omg the formatting, my eyes, my eyeeeeeeeees. But srsly it's not that bad.

In other news, the return of dem HST 15s feels. Help..... me..... :(

Hey lads, is there anywhere you recommend to buy belts from? I'm looking for a belt for DLing. If you have any suggestions please drop me a msg in trust. :) Thanking you.

Do you really need one? If you need it for deadlifting, are you sure you are keeping your lumbar under control? Bear in mind your 1RM work is not necessarily the best indicator of a requirement for one... :)

If you are dead-set on getting one, then practically a two-prong one is probably a best bet (depending on how tall you are). I would always suggest trying one on and seeing how you get on with it... so this may restrict where you can get them from (the local leisure club has Maximuscle-branded ones for crying out loud...?), but I would also talk to your coach/other people in the gym to find out where to get this sort of stuff from, because it will be quite important having somebody who actually knows about weightlifting that can help you find the belt that works for you.

It was my PT that suggested I get one with the fact that I lifted the 95/97kg untrained & I'm happy to see if I can get to 130kg. I called in the local shop but they were out of stock so thought I'd throw the question out here just on the off chance. :)

Edit: Height = 5ft

Cool.

I would be mindful of using belts unless you really know what you're doing, and that you don't grow to rely on it. You'll notice a lot of the bigger lifters on here ditching the belts on the odd occasion to work on their 'raw' lifting and make sure their underpinning technique is good.
