*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

Made me giggle. The guy was saying how he's going to stop doing Rugby now, damaged his rotator cuff, also tore his bicep tendon...Then told me to do RDL's with reverse grip..............

Said it would help my grip, then I can ditch my straps, tried to tell him why I was using them and that I deadlift without straps, dunno if it hit home though :p

When would you guys consider getting a belt> I was thinking of getting one and just using it for max attempts?

I see what you mean when you go for the PB you have "I hope I don't snap" kinda thinking in your head.. there's a guy at my gym who wears one ALL the time.. yet he does bench presses, dumbbell presses etc.. no deads no squats nothing.. what is the point?!

really need to find the motivation to go back to the gym, not been since the crash.

my old gym partner doesn't go any more and just fidnign it hard to be arsed to go on my own.

also need to work out a real routine etc and just cant find the motivation/inspiration to actually start working it all out.

I just need someone to stand there and yell at me/tell me what to do lol.

Go to the gym, maggot! :o

After I had a huge car accident, I wanted to get back to the gym ASAP to return my left arm to its rightful (and still pretty small) size...

Tefal, why even mention the crash unless you're using it as an excuse? You're just being lazy. Lazy doesn't get you swole.

You don't need a routine, just get down there and start lifting, once you're back in to it and you've found your feet is the time to build a routine.

Get your arse to the gym :D
I have constant pain from my accident and an arm and leg full of metal, but wanting to get fit again motivated me, I hated the muscle wastage and feeling sorry for myself.

Do you still have injuries and need rehab or just plain need a routine?

I haven't been gym in 10 years since starting 5 weeks ago but i been doing great i think though my eating still isn't perfected.(i am getting about 150g protein a day though my carbs are lacking somewhat, i am going for lean muscular look.)

I guess i should eat stuff like noodles/pasta in the afternoon? i train early around 6.30am-7am for 75mins or so.I am doing 30mins of HIIT cardio also alternating to 30mins of Spin/6 exercise circuit training three times in one session and 30mins of weights with 2x12 reps usually but going to 3 sets soon.

So far i've lost 4% bodyfat(from 32% to 28%) in these 5 weeks which i heard is good, my waist size gone down by 2 inches and my chest gone down by 2.

I am drinking 2 shakes on workout days and 1 on normal days.(opti nutrion gold standard)

Anyone have any good advice to help me more please? :)

Thanks all.

Do less cardio. Lift more weights.
