*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

really need to find the motivation to go back to the gym, not been since the crash.

my old gym partner doesn't go any more and just fidnign it hard to be arsed to go on my own.

also need to work out a real routine etc and just cant find the motivation/inspiration to actually start working it all out.

I just need someone to stand there and yell at me/tell me what to do lol.

Everytime I am at the gym I get some sort of pain, used to be wrist but now its my shoulder. Hurts for weeks, but I make sure I go to the gym - ITS NO EXCUSE. Pain is a barrier to be crossed, No one said working out was easy.

YOUR LAZY

You just need to go, you dont need a routine , you just need to go to the gym

No you dont.

We've had this new guy join our company.. He started chatting with me about gym because he wanted to start training and he said he found this magical 6 week routine that builds hard abs :/ so I told him to stop wasting his time with that tosh and get a proper routine going if he wants to get anywhere, sent him SS 5X5 and he came back a week later saying that it's simply to hard.. I did feel like slapping him a few times tbh... Why do people expect gym to be easy? does sitting surrounded by iron grow muscle? As far as tefals blabbering goes - man up you wuss!

To be fair you just sound like you're training yourself into more injuries.

Get your arse to the gym :D
I have constant pain from my accident and an arm and leg full of metal, but wanting to get fit again motivated me, I hated the muscle wastage and feeling sorry for myself.

Do you still have injuries and need rehab or just plain need a routine?

Mine was no where near as bad as yours, still got constant pain in my lower back from ligament damage to the 5 L vertebra but the doctor rekons that'll heal in about 6 more months.

Need a routine as I have more motivation when I've got something exact to stick to and yes I am lazy, that's why I needed someone there to make sure I don't slack off lol

This is where I am at atm, lost some size gained some fat since I stopped going, sport about the dodgyness of the pic I took it last week to send to someone lol, don't have any non naked ones recent

Not the best as muscle wasn't the main focus of the pic lol

Several steedie, I've been keeping up the cardio at least :p

Bit worried about doing anymore damage to my lower back though, need to build up more core/abb strength to try and take the weight off my spine.

Look like crap compared to my old pictures

That would do more damage by creating an imbalance, the muscles you want to strengthen are the ones around the damage. Or at least that's my understanding.

Not according to the doctors and physios. they say the weight can either go down the damaged spine or through your abbs/core. And it's the ligaments that are damaged right at the base where the spine joins the pelvis.

By "get the weight off my spine" I don't mean while lifting I mean my body weight while going about day to day life doctor is irritatingly stingy with the codine too because of my past history so have to go every two Weeks just to have enough for bed time/morning.
