Thats why more than 50% of Londoners dont support the tube drivers strike.
Solution is driverless trains. They have it on dlr (docklands light railway). It works well and most importantly there are no strikes.

Nope. They were talking about that on question time this week. They said that unlike other sectors tube drivers have had a strong and active union and their wages rises have kept their rate of pay very competitive.
Its actually £49,673 after the 3 (not 6 as I said earlier) months training and £30,166 whilst training.
After 5 years this rises to £60k per annum.
The deal they have rejected this week is £1,200 payrise and £2,000 bonus for working on one of the all night service lines.
Meanwhile teachers, firemen, police etc all start on around £23k.
And lastly the annual holiday entitlement is 43 days holiday for a tube driver plus the average working hours is 36 hours a week.
Lastly the only qualification needed is GCSE in Maths and English.
Don;t get me wrong, I don't think i could do it. It would drive me mad been underground all day.
And Fox, yes there is a massive waiting list and hard to get in. Of course there is when you look to see that in 5 years you will be on £60k per annum (well probably more like £67k with the annual payrises the unions get for them) for 36 hours and 43 days holiday. I was just pointing out that there are jobs out that that pay more than 50k per annum which dont require skills or qualifications.
In fact Tube drivers are paid more per hour than MP's
OP wanted a 50k job within 5 years, only if it was easy, without him having to move out of his mums, with no quals. He thought jobs under 30k were soley about driving trucks and emptying bins.
He had 40k in the bank and wanted to get a mortgage even though his job was ending in 6 months and he had no options for further employment,
He then would only move out if he could have a cat, which he would love unconditionally. This turned into something about "furries" and how he wanted a cat more than a 50k a year job.
There was a big section about 86JR earning £10million a month or some such nonsense.
Lots of people gave him sound ideas to which he did the sum total of nothing about following it up.
People started willy waving about how much they earn.
OP bought a Toyota Yaris 1.3 petrol which he had to google how to open the fuel cap.
Still nowhere near the magical 50k mark.

Why are you guys bashing someone who had more ambition than many, and hasn't returned to this thread?

As for the OP. I'm rather disappointed in you. 30 and only on 27k. Perhaps that's a little harsh. Perhaps things would be different if you lived in a city like London.
Anyways, you're still alive and kicking. So plenty of time to make it work.
