Things on display take a right beating sometimes. I saw an EEE in a store a while back with half the keys missing.

Trust me, you're unlikely to have the keys fall off :D
 
That really fizzes me off when I got in a shop to look at the laptops and all of them has had some little ***** pull the keys off the keyboards.
 
I'm really thinking about getting one of these in January and will be using it for surfing the net, MSN, emails, openoffice and taking it on holiday, etc.

I guess the linux version would quite a bit more secure than the XP version? I might need to use it to access online banking when abroad, etc. so it needs to be pretty secure.

How long does the battery last when fully charged?
 
I think I was gettin 2-2:30hours on linux and the same on XP but I havent ran it all the way down from a full charge. I was hoping for 3hours+, what things on XP can I do to get more out of the battery?
 
Yeah, the only thing putting me off this is the battery life. I'm really looking for something with quite a bit more battery life. I got more than 2.5 hours on my old 17" dual core Dell laptop!
 
you can get a bigger battery but then price is getting pushed up towards samsung nc10. Im happy as I wanted to spend £200ish and it does nearly everything I want for now.

For the price its either Acer Aspire One or Advent 4211 or EEE, my main choice was between the advent and acer because I dont like the looks of the EEE
 
I purchased the 9 cell extra battery now get a decent 5 - 7 hours out of it (when watching movies)

Only two complaints after owning it for a month or two, is
1) Little noisy on the fan side of things
2) Screen is too bright on lowest setting, when viewing in total darkness could be slightly dimmer.

50 pounds. Not a great price but needed it for a flight kept me entertained nearly all the way to Chicago.
 
2 questions

Does the one come with a carry pouch?

Also does the webcam while using linpus work with msn using the linpus chat program?

Does come with a leather carry pouch and the webcam I think works but I didnt test it in linpus chat

Anyone running a 6600mAh battery in theres? Seen one for £53inc shipping and I know of 1 person on aspireoneuser forums that has said it gets 6.5-9hours out of it depending on what he's doing. Atleast 3x battery life for £53, might get one and see what its like! 12month warranty as well which I always look for.
