OK, maybe not one that i would target so wasn't sure.....worth every hunter knowing the quarry list though.

I only really target rabbits so don't worry about the list too much

guys just looking for some advice, a guy at work is selling a BSA Ultra Single shot, its in great condition with the only marks been at the **** at the back, its got a hawk 3-9x50 scope on case and a Weihrauch silencer and other bits and he is looking for £260 for it.

worth it you think ??? had a fire of it this morning and it shoots lovely nice and silent, only drawback is the 40ish shot tank, but when i had my falcon most i would shot on a hunt is about 30 for clean kills

Depends how old it is, (as I've said in this thread before) BSA sold out a year or so back to a Spanish manufacturer that now make really poor quality BSAs.
I can't stress how much you should look out for the difference, the new guns quality is really not worth the money at all.
It looks to be an earlier gun though and to be honest for that price I'd snap his hand off for it. I always fancied the Hornet more myself (sadly discontinued :() but would defo have that Ultra.

I didn't realise BSA had been sold, that's a real shame and it's also a shame that the Hornet was discontinued - I had one of the early ones and it was a fantastic rifle, unique with the front cocking button and great to shoot.

I never had the fortune of owning a Hornet :(. A friend of mine had one for years and I loved it, hadn't seen him for months - then saw him few weeks back he'd sold it with another rifle (for a damn good price) so he could afford a shottie. Gutted.

As a matter of interest, BSA sold off there Motor parts company to Norton Motor LTD too.

the ultra was bought Feb 9th 2008, if that makes a difference :)

Here is a picture of a newer one;

Compared to yours, you can see the difference. The finish of the wood on yours seems highly treated and of good quality. The one on Airgunbuyer (which is fair to assume is a "newer" one) is a matt and dull like its MDF covered with a sticker or something. The thumb grip and cheek rest on the one you're looking to buy is far more prominent. The front hand grip is far chunkier (ooer :eek:). The design below the trigger is different.

Safe to say the one you're looking at is a good quality one.

Good to now thanks for that, i bought it as well so now i just need a 3lt tank best price i have seen is from BAR with next day delivery for about £150, any one got any recommendations for some .22 pellats ???? i use to use accupells but i have been told the QC has gone down the pan since my time ;)

The 'pells are still the best imo. There are 'better' pellets on the market but the price of them is ridiculous, over £10 a tin in some cases. For under a tenner you can't beat the 'pell range.

If you're shooting targets buy a cheap pointed pellet. If its vermin control or hunting then get a domed or preferably a flat headed pellet.

Ive got this webley and scott air rifle. Seems pretty powerful (killed a seagull literally a field away :o:) and takes .22

Havent used it in years though.
