Looking for some whey protein I can have a few times a day. Ideally, I'd want to spend up to £30, possibly a little more, for as much as possible. :o

Found a 5kg tub on ebay for something like £29.99. Worth getting something like that, or investing in the more expensive brands, etc? Thanks.

Just a few posts up :)

Yes Casein is best before bed, you could just drink your normal protein with milk instead of water for the same effect, but it probably works out cheaper to just get the casein as well

Ah, thank you. Will probably order some later. :)

well, did some deadlifts today. had to use the oly bar that is normally used for squats only.... no knurling on the bar at all! so smooth it was horrible. no chalk and no straps meant hard work gripping :(

anyway, wrist held up fine, shame the grip didnt. Wanted a few reps at 100kg (nothing special, but a good starting point), ended up doing 130x5x2 before giving up for the pants grip!

other back work was so so so weak. possibly due to me doing cardio this morning and not really eating much during the day, most probably due to just not working out much this last few months.

Will keep plugging at it though, the strength will come back :]

All the bars at my place have next to no knurling :(. I should have nicked the one from my uni gym when i left, man that was lovely, you almost had to tear your hands off it after a set.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a very rough idea how many calories they think are in the following in total please:

Protein shake (60g oats, 30g whey protein, water), banana

Bowl of bran flakes with semi-skimmed milk

2 chicken rolls, yoghurt

Protein shake (60g oats, 30g whey protein, water), handful of dried fruit and nuts

Spaghetti Bolognese (large portion), 2 oranges

Protein shake (60g oats, 30g whey protein, water), handful of grapes

I was feeling adventurous, so I just made the smoothie/drink that I thought up yesterday:

2x wheetabix : 127kcal 4.3g protein
2x low fat yoghurt pots (125g ea): 225kcal 9.8g protein (i used pineapple, mm)
200ml skimmed milk: 69kcal 6.8g protein
1 scoop whey: 98kcal 20.5g protein

total: 41.4g protein
519 kcal

all in a blender, give it a few buzzes (to keep texture)

it's gooood. the wheetabix give it a nice texture, and the pineapple/ wheetabix flavour is ace :)

it's quite thick, so I might add more milk next time.... or maybe just one bix.
