*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

if your with O2 they have a recycle program and you can trade in an 8Gb 3G for £172. I am planning to do that with my 3G hopefully the new handset will be free for me on my contract. i got the 3G for free so am hoping the iPhone 4 will be too.
May have to give O2 business services a call tomorrow.

Link if anyone is interested

Just noticed that there's no date mentioned of when you must send it in by.

Might register my 32GB 3GS for £282.50 then :D

Has there be any more confirmations on the speed of the A4? Just wondering if this wont be the iPad version and if it isnt, that it might indicate a speed bumped 4GS in the near future...

I dont see Apple having the luxury of doing a 'simple' update from 3G to 3GS again especially with how competitive other smartphones are - the next update should be proper generational...

Just wondering if I can stick with the 3GS - need to find out the upgrade cost really and the fact Ill end up buying into the yearly update process...

ps3ud0

I dont want any of that crap, the desire is full of stuff you just DONT need.

People keep coming back to the iphone because of 3 reasons

- It looks fantastic
- Its simplicity to use
- It WORKS ...

Sorry but i had to comment on this fanboy post :p

I used to think the iPhone was awsome too intill i got the HTC Desire. and the 3 points you made.

Yup HTC Desire also looks fantastic.
Yup the Desire/Android are VERY easy to use, you just add your accounts at the start and everything is sweet, and in sync. You can use android in exactly the same way as iPhone, the fetures it comes with and then an app store for more things.

The only time Android is not so simple is when people that like to have there phone setup and running the way THEY want it (not the company they got it from) you have to do abit of reading, but i still would not say it's hard.

And as for "It WORKS .." i hate to tell you this, but thats kind of what smart phones do, they work

But it doesn't and before anyone starts I am far from an "Apple Hater" as I happily use a Macbook at home. ;)

I had a play with my friends 3 and 3gs, the 3 crashed safari everytime you tried to do anything with a page before if fully loaded which was annoying. There was no radio on either model (that the owner could find, so I could be wrong on that one:p) which is also a pain.

Also trying to do simple tihngs can be a pain, we were on a train with no signal and my friend tried to send the text which of course did not go through. To resend the message he had to either forward it to the same number again, or copy paste into a new message. Even on my crappy sybian there is a resend option.

He also had fun trying to send pictures via bluetooth to a photo machine in teseco, yep you guessed it, it did't just work in fact he could not do it. If the phone had expandable memory he could have taken pictures from the card, but wait! No expandable memory either.

The iPhone has an intuitive UI dont get me wrong but if it cant get the basics right then I don't care about the flashy stuff.

Just the phone and battery (which you can't take out of an iPhone!)

Found the promo code..

But:

For phones

• Please only send the handset and battery
• For iphones please include the charger

Also, there is no mention of the price on the sell order - my worry is that they will drop the price and we get sent loads less than we expected with no comeback.

And then you read the terms and conditions and they knock off 5% for light cosmetic wear etc etc - you could end up getting next to nothing for it if you're not careful

Never understood the obsession with knowing what the CURRENT weather is like, seems plainly obvious already to me, the weather app makes more sense, especially things on your computer that do it such as rainmeter, also telling you the date in big ass text too, seems more aesthetic and strangely people see it as edgy for their desktop to tell them the weather.

Also I've been able to resend a message if it failed for as long as I can remember.

iphone does have shortcomings and I agree bluetooth is pretty confusing with it but a lot of arguements (like the megapixel one) seem to be unfounded, same with the ipad, my brother goes on so much about it not having flash, yet the only website that annoys me using my ipad is the BBC and not being able to watch the videos, he also said it was hard to use, which was hilarious.

Fair point. I've never used O2 Recycle, anyone who has care to comment?

Mine has a crack by the dock connector, so I'm gonna Sync it tonight and go for a Genius tomorrow with the hope of getting it replaced with a Brand New 32GB 3GS ready to sell :D. Could probably get more for it by selling, but not sure if I CBA with the hassle of a nice man in Nigeria too.

If you check the terms and conditions on the o2 recycle site the price for the phone is only valid for 7 days

******** **** ****. :(

Or it might be: more4u

I found 2 codes, i dont know which will work.

That's the one I used. It said it was valid but the price stayed at £282.50 .... though the price box was above the promo code box so I don't know if it would update?

A bit surprised at the seams in the body (bottom and top), I remember Engadget or Gizmodo speculating that the seams "would probably disappear between now and release". Expected a more unibody no-seams look.

Will be upgrading simply because I've got an original "retro" 2G iPhone out of contract.
