Anyone know if Carphone warehouse will offer an upgrade to customers who are already in a contract with a 3gs phone?

If you pay out your remaining contract.

E.g. 6 months remaining on a £35/month tariff = £210

Glad i switched to 02 Simplicity a few months ago. Can just walk into the Apple store and buy the White 32GB iPhone 4 :) Yummy. Probably going to be about £550 but if you think on an 02 Contract they will be offering;

24 Month Contract, £35 Month, £150 Outlay for the iPhone. So that's an overall cost of;

Nearly £1,000.....Yikes.

So instead, i will be paying £20 per month for the same but better iPhone Contract i had....saving nearly £500. :) Bargain? No?

no because you'll be paying £550 for a phone and then £20 a month on contract. After the same 24 months you'll have paid... over a grand.

Its swings and roundabouts, less money on contract, more on phone .... less on phone, more on contract.

Over the 24 month period you still pay roughly the same ammount.

And you totally missed the point of my statement :rolleyes:

Not really you were saying that it is not only iPhone customers that would upgrade over something as trivial as screen size or resolution.

I was just playing the my screen is better than your screen game, lighten up.

..but you're forgetting the main point of buying PAYG:

Not being tied in when it comes to upgrade time, June 2011

Oh do you really expect me to believe that.......

Only yesterday Steve told me iphone screen > amoled :D

Sorry if this has been asked but is the biggest iPhone 4 still 32gb?

If it is then I see no point upgrading, I'll just await the new OS :)

I was checking the site for someone the other day, and it seems they've changed the tariffs for iPhone simplicity. They do a cheaper £15/month tariff which I'm considering.

That's in a 12 month contract though? I'm sticking with my 1 month rolling contract. I would go for the 12 month one for £15/month but its 300 minutes, I currently get 600 for £20/month 1 month rolling contract!

Yeah, I'm on the same £20 contract as you.. but I thought it was worth pointing out as it's cheaper and only 12 months.

Quick question guys - just had my launch day iPhone 3GS inspected and they noticed a stress crack between the headphone socket and the chrome - is this something Apple will replace without fuss? It's only small and not really noticeable (always been in a CapsuleNeo) but has affected it's resell value...

ps3ud0 :cool:

Yeah, I'm on the same £20 contract as you.. but I thought it was worth pointing out as it's cheaper and only 12 months.

You're on iPhone Simplicity £20 yeah? From a iPhone 3G contract (£35?) that ran its full 18months.

I got my iPhone 3G (16GB) at launch, on the £35p/m 18month contract.

When the iPhone 3GS came out, I bought one (32GB) as a pay-as-you-go handset and put my 3G contract SIM in it, and flogged the 3G handset.

When my 18 months were over, in December 2009, I had my contract changed to iPhone Simplicty £20 - for those that don't know it, it's a rolling 1-month contract at £20p/m for exactly the same as the iPhone £35p/m contract but with extra texts (though I can’t remember the number).

For iPhone 4 I'm not sure what to do.

My current idea is to sell my 3GS handset, buy iPhone 4 as a pay-as-you-go handset and then either have O2 transfer my Simplicity 20 contract over to a microsim (will they do this?), or to cut up my current SIM to fit (I did this with another SIM for my iPad as no microsims were available here when I got it!).

Unless they do a contract that works out better....
