Will you be able to do video calls with people who don't have an iPhone?

Don't think so, says something about it in the little promo video. I think once they have got the video calling sorted over the phone networks, maybe, but that is my guess.

Where would you guys say is best place to pre order just booked ticket to thailand and am going on the 25th, so I have to get it on release if I am getting it at all. Apple store in regent street is about 15 mins away from me so are the phone shops, are the phones unlocked when you get it from apple

thanks;)

I'd say No (for now).

It seemed as if Steve was pushing the open standard aspect of "FaceTime", as if to say to developers: use these standards and the iPhone will play with any handset.

What are you people putting on your iPhones  Mine is the 16GB version and is only half full with music and pics. I don't even listen to most of the music on it! :p

Short answer no. I image that Skype will be quick off the mark to add video calling to their app though which would make it possible to do iPhone 4 to desktop video calls and maybe iPhone 4 to iPhone 3G/3GS as long as their processors can handle the video.

Mine is full of music, video and podcasts. It is my main media player so it has most of my stuff on it. Even when I go to 32GB I'm going to be pushing it a bit.

Mostly music, but I want to get more films on my phone. I don't like creating playlists to get all the music I want onto an MP3, so I just whack it all on. But shame that it's not gone up from 32GB, was looking forward to having the majority of my music on my phone.

Just music. I only use 320kbps VBR AAC.

I have about 150gb of albums alone.. with my current 32gb 3gs, I have to leave off a lot of music that I want on there.

if I had 80gb or more, I could get all of the "essential" albums on.. but even 64gb would be nice.

O2 previously had a contract with apple, they were unable to offer any discounts on the iphone. Will this still be the case or can o2 employees now get the 30% discount like they can for all other contracts?

I have a music library of 80GB in lossless. I just created 1 playlist of all my favourite tracks, and another for a random selection of music.

I only have a 16GB 3G, so I'm selective with my favourite playlist ( I try to keep it <12GB) and the random playlist is purely a smart playlist that picks 12GB of random tracks. I tend not to use this as much because it takes an age to re-sync a whole 12GB.

AirVideo handles my movie needs, so the other 2GB is used for apps, photos and podcasts. I'd like 32GB, but obviously if they did 64GB I'd like that more ;)

always could do :S I am currently on a friends and family at the moment :)

Anybody running ios4? Been trying to install it onto my 3GS but requires iTunes 9.2 which is only available for mac.

Mac only install.
requires 9.2 as said.
Won't sync with 9.1.* versions if you do install it on a mac.
U need to have your phone registered still with the dev site.

BUT there is currently no supported roll back to 3.* if you don't get on with iOS4 so I wouldn't bother on your only phone. I've been testing for a few months on my spare/dev phone :P

What's wrong with o2?

All I know is that its the only network that gets a signal in my house :p

... regarding the simplicity contract, will they just send out a new sim and you activate it when the 4 is out or something?
o2's 3G signal spread around London has steadily declined since the iPhone 3G became really popular. On my journey I go through a combo of 3G/Edge and GPRS on a GOOD day. On a typical day I just stare at the gprs dot :(

I have screens somewhere of bandwidth speedtest figures that would make a 56k'er weep :)

I think all you have to do is ask for your PAC code when you cancel your contract and it moves accross over to the new network. Its pretty easy to do.

Rar, cheers!
