*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

But remember to factor in the obscene 10% eBay fee then another 3-4% Paypal fee.

I'm going with the o2 recycle deal, significantly safer than eBay.

Or take it to your local cex store? They inspect it, value it and credit your account on the same day. Rules out any postage worries then. Should be able to get £280ish mint condition if i remember correctly.

Forget ebay...stick it on gumtree...much easier and safer to use...sell all my phones via that website...screw ebay tbqh as its full of scamming idiots i find.

HA !

took my 3G to CEX, had a few scratches on the back. Had the box, all the leads, instructions, cables etc.. Front was immaculate. Got £210 on ebay.

CEX ?? "less than C grade mate. £120 ??"

Told 'em where to stuff it. I know a mate got a free ipod on a phone contract. Took it next door to CEX still sealed. "B grade mate" even though the seal was in tact and the box never openned or the device switched on. "just the way it is mate" was the response.

They NEVER give A grade on electronics. Mint is B grade, anything less than mint is C grade or lower.

No, not quite.

Your 3GS: +£240
Ending contract: -£180
iPhone 4: -£200 (roughly)

It'll cost you £140 to upgrade :)

Ah yes I forgot I'd have to buy the iPhone 4 :p
Thanks for that mate :)

Just watched the video on the apple site, I didn't realise that the metal strip going around the phone (the sides) was the antenna as well

CEX are a joke shop, they say they offer cash for goods yet once they tested item and you have been waiting around for 2 hours they say they have no cash and can only give you credit note. Tottenham court road cex is the prime example, worse shop I have ever been in, in my entire life. O2 recycle is best bet

My freepost bag came from O2 today. It's for my 3GS 32GB, at £282.50. Possibly more if the 10% code I used worked. Thing is, I don't really want to send it yet... but I'd have to within 7 days :(.

It's 15 days until iPhone 4 goes on sale, at an unknown price!

Hmmmmm.

the iphone 4 will be the same price as the 3GS

they will just shift the 3GS to 3G prices and discontinue the 3G,

Just do it, then you've got the money in your account ready to go when o2 take pre orders.

That's where I've got my desire advertised at present. Wanting 300 ono for it, and am getting absolutely tons of interest.......from foreigners wanting me to take pay pal gift and ship abroad!

Are you sure gumtree is that good, as I'm getting nothing but grief off it. Anyone recommend a better site?

Regarding O2 recycle and the like, does anyone have any idea how they might handle my 16Gb 3G, it has the usual scraches which isn't much of an issue however the mute switch has also broken? While the switch still functions if you can move it with your fingernail of whatever I'm a bit concerned they might reject it. And I suspect it's to old (18 months) for apple to swap.

Will cost me £20 + phone price, all over it!

Looking at getting the 12 month simplicity for iphone £15+ phone price (£450) package or trying to get a 3 network sim to work with a iphone 4. As i have had a perfect 3g signal with my n95 8g, able to watch iplayer allmost everywhere i go with no loss of signal. No idea what o2 are like in my area atm.

Im guessing il have to get an iphone 4 unlocked before i could go about useing a 3 network sim in it ?

I'm tempted to move to orange or tmobile, their 3g coverage is far better than o2's in my area. However, i get 30% friends and family discount with o2, which is too much to ignore!

Anyone had applecare for the iphone before?Putting down £450 for somthing that fits in my pocket would be easier with some kinda insurance piece of mind :p

Applecare isn't insurance :( it will just extend the hardware cover for an extra year, you'll need to have insurance on top of that.

Depends how your signal is. If you're somewhere and can't use it for calls then it's a bit useless :(. Something to think about m8.

What was the 10% code? I just put my 32 GB 3GS on 02's site and it said £253.
