*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I'm not so sure the invisible shield and apple bumper works that well.

Because of the way the bumper hugs the iPhone, it's pushing the edges of my invisible shield up. It ended up pushing one corner really badly the other night but I seem to have managed to get it back down.

I haven't taken the bumper off once either since installing it.

If you are after a screen protector then take a look at the SGP Oleophobic screen film. The clarity is excellent, almost as if nothing is there and the protection is good too. It's very easy to clean.

where would be the best place to order these?

Right question time.

Is the iPhone 4 good enough to be a replacement satnav? It's got a GPS unit built into it hasn't it?

Yes.

Have TomTom on mine, connected via a Brodit/Aux in so get charging & voice through car speakers.

GPS quicker to lock on than my old TomTom One.

Zero complaints & TomTom standalone given to GF :p

Yes and Yes.

I'm very happily using Co-Pilot and it works as well as a standalone Sat-Nav unit. It will eat the battery so a car charger is recommended.

Wohoo just ordered the Iphone4 , i paid :

Iphone 4 16GB black = £99

500/mins , 5000 texts , 3000mins to 3 phones and 1GB internet = £30/month

Also get £65 quidco so the phone works out at £35.

Should be a nice upgrade i have had the iphone 2G since the first day it was released in the states. 9th of july 2007!

I figured I might as well ask this in here instead of make a new thread about it.

I'm currently on the latest iPhone firmware 4.0.2 I believe. To Jailbreak, I understand that I need to downgrade this firmware to the previous version and then go to the Jailbreak site.

Is that correct, or is there anything more to it?

Following on from that, is it possible to brick your phone doing this, and is there a fix for it if you do brick it.

To be honest mate I think 4.1 is out today and that will be re-JB'ed in no time - so I would just wait :)

Your iPhone 4 must have been jailbroken on 4.0.1 previous to 4.0.2 being installed. and it must have SHSH blobs saved via either Cydia or Firmware Umbrella.

If these aren't saved, then it is impossible to downgrade as Apple (the all knowing, all powerful complicated people they are) will block the downgrade.

I'm with McDaniel. Just wait for 4.1 to be jailbroken.

Also waiting for the 4.1 JB. Buggered if I'm losing LockInfo and SBSSettings, not to mention 5 icon dock.

Game Center will be about as m e h as Ping! at this early stage. The only real thing that interests me is the Poxy sensor fix.

I'm going to be upgrading my 3G to an iPhone 4 when my contract ends this month. Do you think it is worth delaying until after the 30th September to see if this hardware revision rumor apperars to be true? (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/08/31...hardware-revision-coming-by-end-of-september/) Or should I get one before the 30th to get the free case?

I caved in a couple of days ago and went for it. Just based on the fact that you get a free case. There might well be a hardware revision coming but it will be silent I suspect and slowly works its way into the chain of iPhones so you wont be guaranteed to get a "new" model when you purchase.

I say go for it mate.

Depends on if you can wait till after sept 30th??...tbh i dont think there is going to be a revision...perhaps a slight modification but nothing too extreme to the extent that you wont even be able to tell the difference in all honesty between the ore 30th sept iphones and the ones after 30th sept.

People only suffer the signal loss if they are in a low signal area...if you arent then your not going to suffer from it.
