*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Need your help guys - my sisters called up in tears as shes just smashed the back of her 1week old iPhone 4. She doesnt have mobile insurance yet and the excess on the house insurance just doesnt make it worthwhile to go down that route.

Basically it looks like I need to replace the whole back (the glass back attaches to the back cover using adhesive so it doesnt seem possible to replace just the glass).

Does anyone have any ideas of how to get this part and the relevant cost? To fix it it looks very straight forward - jsut remove the 2 screws near the dock connector and slide off the back - right?

TIA

I'm having the exact same problem. Plus mine is showing the overheating message more and more often.

Spoke to Apple regarding this, they want me to head to an Apple store for a direct replacement. Apparently the person I spoke to on the phone had a word with a head engineer and they wanted me to take it in asap. Haven't done so yet as the nearest Apple store is a pita to get to.

I've never had the overheating message ? what conditions brought that up ?

If you go back a couple of pages there's a link to a nice brushed metal back, costs about fifteen quid delivered.
Cheers - was thinking that but I know she will need the original back aswell - looks like its a simple replacement and will cost around £55-£65.

Ive told her to go to Apple tomorrow just to get a quote aswell...

EDIT: Looks like Apple may do it for £25 rather than charge the complete replacement fee of around £130...

Just to let you know Regents Street Apple Store just replaced the whole back cover for £25. When I was researching it seems its a service they will provide (when pushed) rather than the obvious £130 full replacement charge since dropping your phone and shattering the back happens so often...

Just dont replace it yourself and take it in as youve just voided any warranty and they wont touch it AFAIK...

Has anyone else had the issue where the iPhone randomly puts all your music under A and not in alphabetical order? It was fine yesterday, went to use it and now its done it again....

Done it twice on mine now...

Seems the only way to fix it is to delete all your music off the phone and start again... :(

This is on a 4.1 Jailbreak if it makes any difference...

Nothing of any particular note. The phone gets hot to the touch when it's on charge, especially the metal bezel. This doesn't trigger the message though.

It seems to happen when I pull the phone out of my jeans pocket which doesn't get all that hot, well hot enough to trigger an overheating error.

Hmmm, it fixed itself after another resync... God know.... lol

Does anyone know when Tesco will be getting some in? I've been checking for the past couple of days and they've been out of stock. They don't even have a decent online customer service contact.

Anyone got there's from Tesco recently?

How ? im interested id rather not keep paying orange

All the banks offer 'enhanced' accounts that give you tons of extra features - usually costing around £7 a month. Typically features include mobile phone insurance, breakdown insurance, extra card insurance and some other stuff that you're less likely to use.
