*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I got myself a SwitchEasy TRIM a few days ago, brilliant case. I had the SE GLITZ before that but it looked a little girly :p

I've always had SE cases starting from when I had my 3GS. Always kept it completely scratch free and never had a problem :)

Yay my phone is having hallucinations :D

When my old 2G started doing this a couple of years back I thought it had bitten the dust.
I used anti-static foam electrical cleaner on the dock connector and brushed it out. Did this a few times and the issue completely stopped.

Factory restoring just resulted in me having a wiped iphone with the same error message.

Right so I restored my phone from a 3GS to a new 4, but I didn't have the 'sync apps' option ticked originally meaning I have to redownload all my apps. The problem I have now is VLC is no longer on the store and I had about 7GB of video which is now inaccessible taking space on my new iPhone, any ideas as to how to get rid of it without wiping the whole phone to start again?

Try just ticking the sync apps checkbox and then perform a sync. It should sync them all over. If you still have the vlc ipa file on your pc and within iTunes then it should sync over and work fine. Give it a go.

I think I did this before and it deletes all the apps first requiring me to download them all again.... I don't think I have the VLC ipa file anymore, is there anyway to check?

Sorry, by no unlock I mean that if people on 4.2.1 are using a Jailbreak related unlock it wont work on 4.3.1 just yet.

If you have a locked phone and you are using a relevant simcard in it, or it is factory unlocked, it'll be fine :)

Just joined the iPhone 4 club thanks to work :) got to say I'm loving it so far, with exchange sync and all the other great features... just got to test out the tethering now! :D

I've had my iPhone 4 for about 6 months now and I'm currently using 4.1 which isn't jailbroken. Anyway, my battery life over the last week or so doesn't seem to last as long as it previously did even with light use. My battery dropped 10% in 7 hours whilst I was in bed. I asked a colleague whether he noticed if his battery was draining quicker and he agreed that over the last week or so his battery wasn't lasting as long between charges.

Is anyone else seeing a similar reduction in battery life?

If you haven't updated the phone, the battery life shouldn't just change randomly unless you've got several things syncing you didn't have before, or if its faulty.

There are reported battery issues (they dont affect everyone though, strangely) on the newer firmwares so are you sure you haven't updated it by mistake? :p
