********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

I want moar people to iMessage.

Siri is absolutely amazing.

I've properly fallen back in love with the iPhone. I mean the 4 was amazing, but Siri and the 4s are just on another level. Well done Apple.

Off for a very random spur of the moment night out in 20 minutes too :D

Apple still haven't taken my money, my available balance dropped but now it's back up.

That's why I went 64Gb. My 16Gb iPhone 4 had just a couple of hundred Mb free. On the new one, I've restored my backup and instead of just picking the music from a few artists, I've ticked to sync 'Entire music library' and "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC" and it's currently converting and syncing a little over 9,200 audio tracks with plenty of space free :D

Anyone here done the jump from 3G to 4S? Just wondering what the process is to get all my data across from my 3G to the 4S since iOS 5 isn't compatible with the 3G. Will iTunes just handle it all for me if I backup my old 3G and then restore to the 4S?

Yes, just restore the backup from the 3G to the 4S.

I don't have that much music :p

I used to just sync a play list and podcasts, whacked it all on, my apps and over 1200 photo's from iPhoto and I've got 9GB left of space :)

Yes, just restore the backup from the 3G to the 4S.

Nice one, cheers Feek. Mine is at the post office. Gonna collect it first thing tomorrow morning and I can't wait! Siri sounds amazing from what I've read so far over the last few pages :D But mostly I just want to get off my old 3G as it is just so slow now. It has been a fantastic phone, I just wish I'd never upgraded to iOS 4.

It seems the plastic inside the bumper can leave marks, also with dirt getting under they can scratch the metal bezel and leave it looking quite bad.

I can vouch for this - It has ruined my iPhone 4 - Also it practically began to disintegrate over the course of a year :p

Just put some tape or something under the plastic. I put some electrical insulation tape on my bezel, just to be safe.

Well I got one. I turned up at the Apple store just before 8am this morning, got a reservation ticket and buggered off.

Came back at lunch time, got told they'd sold out until I handed over my ticket, at which point I got a shiny new iPhone.

Never had a bumper on my iP4, personally I don't think they provide adequate protection which is why I opted against getting one. I got a Speck Pixelskin HD for mine for free last year when there was all the controversy about the signal issues when held in a certain manner. I think it's one of the best iP4 cases out there, it's relatively thin + light and offers better protection than the bumper. It has marked the metal band a little but nothing compared to the damage that the phone would have otherwise incurred had it not had the case on while dropping the phone numerous times.

Unfortunately the metal band will be the first thing that marks regardless of whether you have a case or bumper installed or not. I'd rather have it mark slightly inside a case and have protection around the phone elsewhere than have it completely bare. Unfortunately the metal band is rather vulnerable to cosmetic damage. :(

I shall be reusing my old case for when I buy the iP4S, one good thing about keeping the phone design similar.
