The speed tests worry me slightly because i know many IP4 users who were and are holding back. Many are border line.

If your not going to use Siri, you have to fall back on a better camera and speed....

It seems apples product lines continue to cycle to : new design (3g) Perfected style (3gs), New design (4) Perfect style (4s)

Well I don't have a vid but coming from a 3GS I'm gonna hazard a guess as to say it's at least 5 times faster in everything it does. (and thats being quite conservative)

The speed it takes photos is insane and the speed it switches from safari to mail and back again is unreal.

Little things I'm noticing as time goes on like the BBC News app for example, lots of media here. I press the icon it loads instantly with all the images and when I press an article it loads (what feels like) before I even take my finger off the screen.

As for Siri, sure it's very gimmicky at the moment with everyone in the world asking stupid questions but once that dies down and you actually start using it for real everyday things it's going to be so powerful. The fact it's BETA excites me as it's just the beginning...

So very pleased I upgraded.

Yes 3gs to 4S we were all expecting to be better. But i think its abit grey for the iphone 4 users.

Watching some of the videos: 500 quid + for 0.25 seconds faster seems abit unreal for many iphone 4 users.
 
Siri will be awesome when its integrated with Around me and other apps.

Is it an AI system that constantly learns from what others are asking it and peoples replies?
I have noticed it uses wifi/3g connection when you use it, does it alway need a data connection to work. e.g I went out the country and didnt have roaming on, would it still work?

I got mine yesterday and been playing it about with it (i used to have iphone4)

its a lot quicker and i thought the 4 was quick and the camera is good quality aint uploaded any pics or vids yet so cant really see the full quality .

I dont see a massive difference in it, I had to pay a early upgrade fee of £200 with orange but if I send them my iphone4 they will give me £280 for it so not that bad really... but depends when the 5 is going to come out.

I dont see why people have to wait the day before and camp for it , thats just stupid lol its not going to call anyone any quicker or message anyone if you get the first phone
 
I asked Siri about HAL 9000 and it said

"I don't want to talk about HAL, but if you insist.."

Then gave me the Wikipedia page :)
 
Siri is really giving me the itch to want one. To me, it just seems like such a powerful tool. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to inputting anything on the phone like calendar events so Siri is a really strong selling point for me. Just annoying they are not releasing it on the 4.

Seems they need to calibrate the targetting scanners. I don't think Kirk would have appreciated being told to stand still while in a phaser fight! :eek:


Anyway, it was nice of the local council to organise a fireworks display for the launch... :D


All shot on the 4S, naturally. It's a difficult subject due to the rapid changes in light level and lack of things to focus on, but it seemed to only really lose the plot when I tried to intervene, so in future I'll try not to. I'll say this - it might not be able to achieve the quality of my DSLR, but it sure is easier to carry! :)

I've got a few other videos to test framerate and the like so I'll upload those too.
