More than normal use to be honest, including "new toy 'play factor". Brightness just below half, mobile data stayed on the whole time for iMessage. Calls, texts/imessage, email, whatsapp and words with friends on push. Messing around with Siri, playing the odd game, bluetooth on occasionally in the car, a bit of app store browsing, etc.

Pretty happy with that, think ill probably get 3 whole days out of it with normal use.

Thats good. Did you do any sort of battery drain or full charge when you got it? I just charged it when I got home from work on around 50% then again the next day etc

I do use 3G a bit throughout thr day for the net. Do you have icloud on or off?
 
Mine went down 34% over about 12 hours with some FB and Siri usage. Not bad I suppose.

Speaking of Siri, I've now been reported for harassment of intelligent agents, but at least I figured out why no location-based services were working. So I can now set location based reminders and ask the time and weather. :)

Has anyone got 'call home' working (Siri). Doesn't work for me and I'd like to know why not.

It asks me which home. ive got about 8 addresses with home in

Its a retard when it comes to calling mum. It asks if I want to call mum work or mum, I say mum and it asks again if I want to call mum work or mum

Suppose its still beta so ill let it off
 
I had that. Here's how to fix it:

  • Go to the relevant contact (yours or mum's).
  • Scroll to the bottom and look for 'linked cards'.
  • Leave the 'Unified' one alone. Click on each of the others and then Edit and Delete.
  • Once you're done deleting unnecessary contacts, look at the one that's left and make sure there's only one 'home' and/or one 'work' address.

Once you're done, Siri should behave.

PS - Don't blame me if your contacts disappear. This worked for me but since you will be deleting contacts, I won't guarantee against catastrophe.

My linked Cards for myself show Unified and Exchange. I really dont want to be messing about with either of them?
God knows what unified refers to but im sure Exchange is linked to my Gmail account which is my default Mail account- i dont really want to be deleting my own contact card in there!

EDIT: Deleted the Exchange Link Card for myself in my own contact. Now Siri only shows 1 home/work address where previoulsy it showed them both twice. Im assuming it was duplicating addresses from Unified & Exchange accounts?

That's not looking good at all. I wouldn't bother if they had kept the original 4 sizes, battery life is pretty important to me over other features and it seems to be pretty bad.

I haven't noticed ios 5 making my iPad any worse.

Its interesting that, because my battery is roughly the same.
I mean, its probably 10% worse or so but i still end up having to charge it every night on a weekday (for heavy use in the day of corse ;) just like my 3gs.

It can last a full weekend though.

I should clarify, its worlds better then my 3gs, by "10% worse or so" i refer to the other half's IP4

Yeah this is a bug that some get worse than others, some are getting near the full battery life. In work we're all getting about 24hrs to a charge and light use but there's others loosing 15% per hour :o
