********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

They all rattle, it's the accelerometer. Or the vibration motor. Or something. All iPhones have done it.

Many thanks. Thats the impression im getting with everything on the internet. Certainly a lot of people out there who have this on their iPhones and 4S isn't any different. Loads of threads on Apple Support site!
Everything points towards the autofocus lens/vibration mechanism.

Those that say their 4S doesn't rattle must be hard of hearing then..?

I have this so far, after taking it of charge Monday afternoon.

I have probably sent about 20 imessages and 5-10 texts and talked for around 20-30minutes on the phone. It seems whenever i do use the phone the battery drains quickly, but when i leave it alone it barely drops. I have checked email multiple times, got it set on manual, some facebook and a little safari/app store.

It hasn't been used much as i am awaiting on my screen protector and case, before i take it out the house.

Probably about 1% every 2 hours drain with nothing running in standby.

^ awesome battery usage/standby. Seems strange some people are only getting ~12hours with standard use and some are getting 3 days

You either must be doing something different or apple have terrible quality control.

Do you have wireless on, any notifications etc?
What screen brightness do you use? I use jsut below 50% all the time
How do you charge your iphone - In bits or all at once then let it drain to 0?
Does battery depend on network provider? I am on tesco (o2) maybe the phone has to try harder to get a signal or something
Why does yours say 'cellular usage' and mine says 'mobile usage' ?
Are you using IOS5 or 4?

Wirless is always off, notifications on for phone, messages, reminders, calender and facebook. Screen brightness is on auto. I have done a few of the tweeks listed on the internet, re; time set by gps off, turned some gps systems off in options as they were always using gps which drained battery. I have email as manual check.

It's quite good at holding its charge when in standby i went to bed one night at 94% slept for 8 hours woke up and it was 90% so roughly 1% per 2 hours.

If i use the phone properly though, it drains sooooooo fast like 10-12 hours. I doubt i used the phone for 3 hours plus aswell, seems something in the background kept the usage up before i closed it. I love the standby time, but using it as i normally would with a phone it wouldn't last half the day. It's quite bad after coming from a Blackberry.

I've charged it once since getting it, let the initial charge from box run to 0 and turn the phone of then did a 0-100% to calibrate the battery. I'll stick it on charge once this gets to 5% aswell.

Its charged whenever it gets to the 5-10% indicator or sometimes earlier if i know i wont have time to put it on charge. I am not sure re; network provider, i haven't gone outside or on the tube yet where it will loose signal and most like waste battery trying to find it or loose signal based on location.

Phone is on latest version of IOS5, no idea why it says Cellular Usage and not Mobile Usage.

That sounds rather terrible.

I'm close to a new upgrade and I'm really considering the 4S.
Aren't you supposed to get like 8 hours out of the phone when using it regularly?

Also can you set the phone to auto receive emails and notify you of them?

I currently have a BB 9700 and I'm rather use to charging everyfew days at most.

A low signal does drain the battery a little faster.

I have just switched from a 9700 aswell, i did have a 3g back in the day so do know about bad battery life! :p

It's around 8/9 hours talk time i think (dont quote me on that).

Yup but the battery drains a lot faster, due to BB have a completely different email system.

If you use it as much as you do with your 9700 you'll be looking at every day.

Everyday? As in at night when you go to bed?

I had a HTC Desire for a bit and that bugger's battery barely lasted me half a day.

If the 4S only needs to be charged at night that might be alright.
I take it, it's just the problem with full touch screen phones, that are also basically tiny computers. :)

Yup every night, maybe earlier.

I couldn't tell you how often you'd have to charge it, everyones battery is different, if you hammer it though then it won't last the day.

Yup most touch screen phones are mini computers, it's a problem with any smartphone.

Good going - Only 3 hours of use though.

I'm on over 2 days, with 8 hours of use with everything on except Bluetooth.

Hmm, well I still want to give it a try.

Now, black or white....black or white.

Ugh, they both look so good hahaha. I'm really leaning towards the white one, although everything at my desk is black and I think the white might stick out too much.

While the black is nice it might blend in too well.

There's also the chance I'm slightly insane and over thinking all of this completely.
