********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

Would I be in my rights to return a 4S that was activated 2 days ago under DSR? 50% of battery used in 7 hours with everything turned off is not good enough.

This replaced a 2 year old 5800 and that will last 2 days without charge..

Apple have a return policy so you can return anyway. No questions asked.

I kept my 4S for 10 days before phoning up and letting them have it back. They were absolutely fine and I got my pick up and refund promptly. First class customer service.

Can anyone recommend a good case?

Following on from this, I like the idea of keeping the phone on view as much as possible, so was wondering if anybody could recommend any bumper cases that are guaranteed to fit the 4S?

It appears that the iPhone bumpers don't seem to fit, and there's also a hula bumper which was designed for the 4.

If you buy a bumper directly from Apple I can assure you they fit and compensate for the new mute button position :)

Only thing to watch is the bumper rubbing against the rim of the phone, so I've put insulation tape around it this time. Learnt from my mistake after having the ip4 + bumper!

Got my 4S today, just set it all and up and tried to use Siri but all I keep getting is the guy saying sorry and to try again later. It's definitely switched on in the Settings so confused as to why it is not working?

Is it true that Orange can't give money off the handset AND can't change the tariff to give you a better deal because Apple make it that way?

That's what I was just told by their customer service. :(

Anyone able to shed some light on this? I'm looking to buy this soon. I'm slightly put off by the poor battery life issues and rattling lens though.

LOL I wouldnt even buy it from Orange with that kinda line from their CS :p. No doubt Apples price to them is so high, they are 'forced' to charge the consumer higher - I very much doubt that Apple dictate that price past that...

ps3ud0

Poor battery life doesn't affect most phones and will be fixed in the next release of iOS. The battery issue is definitely software based as they managed to switch it to a new phone by restoring from a backup with the issue present and the issue followed the restore.

The rattling lens? I have not heard of that issue. Some lens will make a slight noise due to the image stabilisation mechanism but thats not an issue.

Any one else having problems with Bluetooth? I can't get mine to connect with my other phone, headset or pc. Done a little reading and seems to be a common fault.

So what's the general verdict on the 4S a few months in? Sounds like the battery issues should hopefully be resolved soon with a software update.

I'm asking as I'm pretty tired of my 3G and wouldn't mind upgrading (currently paying £20 on O2 Simplicity) and would probably switch to Three with the £35 a month All-in-One plan where the phone's £99 up front.
