i use doubletwist on my android phone (sgs2)
does everything that itunes does tbh.
..im not a fanboi of any makes, ive had a iphone and still got a couple of ipods too.
...just that i seem to use my android more these days.

iTunes is not just a media player.
its not about tinkering or quirky things its more than that.
with Iphone u are a standard user. locked down by default.
with Apple u are the Administrator of your device.
The worst thing you can do when Apple announce a new product is go on their website and watch their video on it, you go in being disappointed about said new product but you leave convinced you do actually need one

But why are you not giving reasons or solutions to the problems you are having?
I always slated the PC version of iTunes ever since using OS X as my main OS but since using a friends i3 laptop it's been greatly improved and runs extremely well now. If it's stalling and hanging it leads be to believe it's PC incompetence on your end.
