anyone in London have experience of data on three?

Moved over from o2 three months ago and its been rock solid in South London. Could barely get a 2g signal in my office with o2, and I get full 3G with Three. I also use the Tunein Radio app to listen to 5 Live when out and about and I've not had any of the buffering issues I had previously. Speed is good too. Download usually hovers around the 1.3-1.5 Mbps, though its been as high as 2.2 at around 3am.

I'm on the One plan, so unlimited data too :)

that sounds positive as whilst vodafone is generally great for signal in terms of number of bars, it is appalling for data and I regularly see it crawling when loading webpages <0.1Mbps) at all hours of the day, so those kind of speeds sounds great. Think i'll try them for a month and see how it goes :)

I'm tempted to move to three, but a bit worried (and confused) about 2G coverage.

I've read that they partner with Orange where 3G coverage isn't available, but that they've been switching the coverage off in certain areas?

Is this true? And will I generally be able to get a signal when I'm outside of 3G coverage areas?

Thanks. :)

They turned off 2g coverage in this area of Kent and their 3g coverage doesn't reach where I live, nor where some of my family live either. So I suggest trying a pay as you go sim first.

Didn't expect to get caught out with a fake iPhone4/4S case, but that's exactly what's happened to me (I'm aware of fake headphones, been there, but things are pretty desperate when they start copying bits of plastic). Fortunately I don't think I'll get burned and have now ordered the real thing from the OEM to be sure.

Wondering what to do with my 32GB 3GS. It's in great condition but the phone recycling places are only offering £141 for it. By the time eBay has taken its share, I'm not sure if I'll get much more if I auction it either.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you, so let me know what you end up doing, or if anybody else in this thread ends up needing to get shot of a high-end good condition 3GS... I don't really want to eBay it, but there's always somewhere like GumTree I suppose..

Which one, Mark and where from?

At those prices it's still better to buy it outright and get a gifgaff sim :S

Not by much though.

If I get the 32GB white from Tesco on a 12 month £35 contract.

Phone: £300
Contract: £420
Total: £720

If I buy the phone outright and go with gifgaff:

Phone: £599
Contract: £120 (basing it on the £10 sim, even though you get less minutes)
Total: £719

a whole £1 more!

Siri seems pretty good. Being able to control various functions while in the car is surely going to be the main use of this, and it seems to do those things very well. Plus, it will no doubt improve over time.
