********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

Has anyone had experience of swapping a standard sim to a micro-sim from 02?
Ive got the micro sim which they sent me and tomorrow hopefully i will the 4S.

Obviously i need to go through the sim-swap process but does any one know if the microo-sim is activated straight away so i can use it or do you have to wait 24hrs?

We probably need a new thread for Siri funnies

but for now;

Am I the only one here that doesn't get the whole 4 - 4s 'upgrade'? Why are you people spending your money on these things... especially when the 5 is just around the corner...

How is the 5 just around the corner? The 5 isn't going to come out until this time next year.

For me it's as simple as it's costing me £100 to upgrade. I bought the 4 outright, and have just sold it for £350. I'll do the same with the 4s come next year for the upgrade to the 5.

I've honestly not got a problem with paying £100 for an upgrade to a dual core processor, 8mp camera with 1080p recording and for the ability to use Siri... And i don't see why anyone else would either.

Fair enough - are you not able to put iOS5 on the 4 and is Siri actually that revolutionary?

And the cpu and camera upgrade

I've had my HTC Desire running Gingerbread for ages but I am a fan of the Apple UI - I think it's gorgeous and pretty much idiot proof. However I've not felt the need to 'upgrade' to a Galaxy SII or similar because the user experience is not vastly different enough - I get the same impression from iOS5 and the 4s - there is minor cosmetic differences but I'm just not sure that SIRI is a big enough sell, nor is 8MP of average quality images or 1080p of average video. The iPhone 4 seems like an entirely capable device...

I'm assuming you've just totally ignored the part about the updated hardware and then made up the part where I've said I'm upgrading because of iOS 5?

But you can get iOS5 on the 4 can't you?

Yes, and i'm running it on my 4 right now.

Which part of iOS 5 enables the disabled second core on my A4 chip and upgrades the camera? Think i must have missed that feature within the update.

EDIT: Infact, i see you've purchased a 2600k over the 2500k... That £100 difference, how the hell can you justify that if you then question the £100 cost for what i'm doing?

To be fair you are one of a minority of iPhone 4 users that isn't locked into a contact and has to buy the 4s outright. I purchased the 2600K at a very similar price to the 2500K so it made sense to get the best. Especially since I plan on holding onto it for the next few years. I'm not an habitual upgrader when it comes to computers and gadgets. I get the best deal I can for the best bang for my buck - you'll also see that I have the 5850 for a GPU rather than blowing £400 odd on the biggest and best... doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

The question is - does the second core and the extra MPs actually make an appreciable difference to the device or is it just willy waving? Honest question. I found the IP4 to be pretty solidly responsive.

I wondered how long it would be before SteveOBHave came in..

LOL god have I made a name for myself as an iPhone hater? (actually it's mostly Apple I hate - I love the devices...)
