Dont know if anyone is interested but I spotted on AoDVD that http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ have a anime box set sale on. Had a look and saw they had the GTO box set on sale for $62.98 (£25) so I ordered it as they ship worldwide.

Was considering the Rurouni Kenshin box sets as they work out the same price as the US Economy versions but come in the fancy box, but I'm not sure if Kenshin is that interesting.

My mate highly rates the Ruroni Kenshin series and the OVA. I've only seen the OVAs which deal with Kenshin's origins and enjoyed but haven't seen the anime which has more humour in it ect.

Are the boxset those fancy pretty boxes that look really nice?

Looks like it, rather than the cheap brick packs the budget version comes in.

This might be an odd question but I'm assuming that Australian anime releases are the same as the US versions and Madman just act as a distributor right?

Pretty much, madman get the rights and do the conversion from NTSC or HD to PAL for their R4 titles.

There are minor differences in content at times, usually if the R1 had certain extras produced by the R1 distributor as they may not be part of the content Madman got the rights for (sometimes they licence from the R1 rights holder, and sometimes directly from the Japanese depending on the title and the existing licence).

Ah good, was worried my GTO set might have a bunch of corny aussie accents on the dub. :D

Worked out at £33 including shipping, bargain!

Well there was talk on the Madman boards about Australian produced dubs, complete with localisation so honorifics became things like "Mate" ;)

Has anyone got the Limited edition Vol 6 of Fullmetal Alchemist R2?

I was considering stumping up a wad for the R1 box 1 and then getting the other 2 boxes but I've finally found a description of the R2 box and apparently it holds the first 6 DVD's (I thought it might have been a second box but it's the first for R2) but I can't find a picture of it anywhere. :(

Finally got around to watching some anime. :D

Watched The Little Norse Prince. Showed its age but it was a nice story and I enjoyed watching it. It's the first time I've watched all of a subbed anime (no choice with this one) after being traumatised by the Japanese dub of Nadesico and it didn't really bother me that much so I might finally get around to watching Memories now.

The R2 UK tin holds the second 5 DVD's I beleive- it's the same as the second R1 tin but without the OST.

I don't know if they will be releasing another tin at the end of the series for us, as the R1's have a tin with the first, 6th and 10th volumes.

OOh! My GTO box arrived today, a lot quicker than stuff from the US oddly. Went straight through customs as well so that was nice. :D

I like the box, 10 DVD's like Gundam Wing but it's about twice as thick and doesn't feel like it might rip if I pick it up. Nothing like a flimsy box to make me cry.

I was looking to get the R1 box sets a while back but they didn';t have the first one available. Bu if Madman.co.au do a box set then cool i'll get it from then.

I got mine from http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ they have a box set sale on at the minute and it was only £33 inc shipping, cheaper than the R1 box 2 with only half the series in. :D
