just started watching Moho Sensai Negima, i decided to give it a try purley becuse its done by Ken akamutsu the same guy that did Love hina and AI. Love you its quite good obvouisly the story is kinda similair (guy winds up with lots of cute girls for a crazy reason yadda yadda) but is cool its becuse its more of the same if you know what i mean i'd advise any LH fans to check it out.
PS anybody seen Stratos 4, its getting a release over here in a few weeks wondered if its worth picking up

Should hopefully have some free time for episodes 5 - 8 of S.A.C tomorrow. Those tachikoma shorts that have been mentioned are indeed amusing. The way episode 4 ended with the laughing man case unsolved has left me needing more.
Too many jack daniels tonight so hopefully tomorrow afternoon. :D

Right I just finished watching Rahxephon the TV series and have a couple of questions

spoilers for the TV series (highlight to read)
What the hell happened?
Did the rahxephon end up resetting time to before the mulian invasion or something?
I ask because at the end with Haruka and Ayato with the baby I get the definate impression that the events of the TV series did not happen in their personal "timeline", and that it was either some form of dream (unlikely;)) or the Rahxephon with Ayato did something weird when it surrounded the world in that egg thing and he "reset" the world so that the events involving the Mu didn't happen.

End spoiler (and if you highlighted it and read it without watching the series don't blame me:p).

Still quite a good series though, although I can see it needing another viewing when I can watching it with the volume up, and without being distracted constantly by the msn/email/family :)
I'm going to watch the film tommorow which I beleive is an alternate take on the story (rather like the Escaflowne film is with the Escaflowne tv series).

Also, in case anyone is interested apparently ADV UK are releasing a Bubblegum Crisis 2040 complete collection for about £60rrp (so £45ish online i'd guess) next month.
Whilst I don't like 2040 as much as the original series, it's still worth watching at least once :)

blurgh

anyone thinking of getting the recently released Dominion Tank Police UK DVD, don't.
I got my one through this morning and from what I can see (having just had a quick look) i'm pretty disappointed with it.
It's english only, with zero extra's and video quality that is so so, not much better than the free version Playnation gave away a couple of years ago (i'm going to compare them later).

Go for the R1 release which has all 4 episodes on a single disk, with both languages and some extras - it's half the price of just one of the UK disks (acts 3 & 4 are due out in a couple of months).

I'm probably going to order the R1 myself from DVDPacifc next week, it's $11 ($20rrp) + shipping compared to 2x £12 (£16rrp each) for the UK release.

Damn, that will mean i've got acts 1 & 2 in about 5 different versions :p

Been 2 years since I saw it, but iirc [spoil]they compromised to create a world between the two different standpoints[/spoil]

Iirc it filled in a few gaps.

thanks for the takes on Rahxephon, they definately make sense :)

it was certainly a better ending than i must admit i was expecting (i've seen way too much of eva and the like).
Although possibly not quite as good as the ending to Saber Marrionette J-X where Lime, Cherry and Bloodberry finally become human after all the pain they went through because they were just "marrionnettes")

McDaniel, did you watch Mononoke? and more importantly, did you like it?

Just watched ninja scroll last night (first time in a while).
What a great film, and plenty of gore :bwahaha:
The anniversary set is great as well for the price.
Has the film in 4:3 and 16:9 with a fair few diff audio and subtitle tracks.
Havent gotten round to checking out the extras yet.

And watched mononoke for the first time last week too.
As per ghibli strike again with an amazing piece, some of the characters are real freaky looking lol. The forest god :D
Beatifully animated, and even the English dubbing aint too bad.

It tempted me to order the spirited away DVD so, Ive got my spirited away LE bathouse set coming

FULL METAL PANIC
yeah.gif

lol bet werewolf saw that one coming . .

I thoroughly enjoyed the latest series, funny as and some rather odd occurances too. The guy just seems to get the wrong end of the stick constantly.

Would deffo reccomend the latest series which is about to be released on (R1) DVD, and the original series is also being given a complete boxset at the same time. Deffo gonna pick these up. Werewolf also told us recently taht there was another series coming to be screeened in JP in the summer (IIRC)

Naruto altho not a comdedy series (is it?) is rather funny at times.

And I really liked the el-hazard series they were quite funny too, altho probably more fantasy/adventure.

HTH

McD, Nice list mate. .

Wathed the first ep of scrapped princess last night, seemed canny enough just a little slow to start with (I hope ;))

Gantz, Gravion and Kaleido Star are all ones I was considering.

Any good ?

fieldy,

Would deffo reccomend FMA, get the tin from DVDP, tis really nice.

Burst angel also looks quite good to me, aanother im considering.

Has anyone got a spare PLease Teacher Vol1 LE ?

Was there a Vol1 Midori Days LE ?

And full metal Alchemist rocks :p

I'm currently collecting (fortunately not a lot at the moment)

Evangelion Platinum (should get voluime 7 soon)
GITS: SAC LE's, up to volume 5 at the moment, with the last two volumes of the first series on pre-order
Fullmetal Alchemist - getting the R1's with the tins, but the UK releases for the other volumes.
Galaxy Angel Z
Please Twins
Eflen Lied (got the R1 with artbox on pre-order)
Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu (got the R1 volume 1 + artbox on pre-order).

And when it's released over here, Wolfs Rain (well i've got to really ;))

McDaniel, I must admit I liked SA more than mononoke but they are both good and i'm looking forward to the release of more of the Ghibli titles in the U.K. :)

Manveruppd, do you mean U.K. or U.S. releases? (remembering what we can't talk about :))
if you don't mind U.S. releases then FMP Fumoffu will be getting a release in May and is very very funny :)
