argh
just reading over at anime on DVD, apparently Fumuffo has pretty bad video quality, from what people are saying it sounds like ADV either really messed up with the encoding, or the masters they got were poor quality
The big question is,If it is as bad as people are saying will ADV
A: Remaster disc 1 and replace the existing DVD's
B: Bury their head in the sand and pretend there isn't a problem.
I'm hoping for A, but wouldn't like to bet on it
[edit]
Whilst i'm here i'm just wondering what people's most watched Anime would be? (not necessarily their favourites).
It may sound a bit of an odd question but I was looking at my collection earlier trying to decide what to watch and discounting some things as too long
For me it has to be
TV Series:
Evanglion - i've watched it about 8 times now (at least)
Bubblegum Crisis 2040 - watched about 8 times
Full Metal Panic - 3-4 times
Outlaw Star - watched it about 3 times on CNX and about twice on DVD
Princess 9 - about 4 times that I can remember (not bad for a series that I bought blind because of a few recommendations despite it being set to a sport I'm not at all interested in)
OVA's:
Bubbelgum Crisis - probably 10+ times for some episodes/discs
Hellsing - at least 5 times
Macross Plus - no idea, but it's one that tends to be put on a lot (probably 5-6 times in full on DVD, plus various TV showings).
Gunsmith Cats - probably about 8 times now, it's one of thos anime that is short enough to put on when you've only got a couple of hours spare.
Dai Guard - about 4 times, in the last 18 months.
Films:
Princess Mononoke - too many times to remember, but at least 6-10 times (it's one of my oldest discs).
Spirited Away - probably 6-7 times on DVD
Patlabor 1 & 2 - at least 4 or 5 times each.
Some like Macross Plus and Mononoke tend to get a lot of play because I like the soundtrack/know the story pretty well and can quite happily put them on in the background whilst I'm doing other things. Others because i've had the discs for a long time, or find i'm "in the mood" for them on a more regular basis.
What I found slightly odd thinking about is some of the titles I don't watch much, but really enjoy.
Things like Gunbuster - i've seen it maybe twice in full and rate it as one of my favourite OVA's, but because it's only available subtitled I can't put it on without paying full attention to it all the time (not to mention the really poor quality of the only legitimate release with subs).
Boogiepop Phantom, I loved that but can't sit and watch it if i'm not in the right frame of mind.
Grave of the Fireflies - I rate it very highly, but have only ever watched it once, but keep thinking about it whenever I'm trying to decide what to watch (it's normally ruled out as it's too sad).
